No, but they would be a solid 5-6 seed with a renovated bench. I hate what they have behind their starting 5.

I'm just going to say it. Durant is probably the second best player in the league but he is nowhere near Lebron and I'm not sure he ever will be. I like KD a lot but there is no comparison, and really no case to make for him as MVP.

Melo more likely and deserving of that elusive "runner up" title.

Honestly, bias aside. When Melo plays defense and cares he's probably the only slightly comparable player.

    @sideeyespecial: Melo's missed 30 shots this week... Lebron's missed 34 this month

To be fair, Melo had his worst game of the year tonight. He was playing with an arm injury sustained early in the game. I would say he should stopped shooting but no one else was scoring anyway

Thats like the Knick game tonight. It was 56-55 in the mid 3rd

Youre going to not believe me when I say it but Rasheed Wallace being out. When Chandler goes out their defense isnt the same and Wallace gives them that stretch 4 element Ive been telling everyone this team needed for the last 2 years. Offensively and defensively he makes the Knicks a difficult matchup when hes in and hes a huge + player in +/- many nights. I didnt believe it either til I looked it up.

The other part of it is they missed over 200 man games to injury already this year. You know about Shump and Amare but Camby, Wallace, Kidd, Felton and Melo all missed time. They were terrible without Felton in there (5-6) because Kidd cant play 35-40 minutes and Prigioni isnt a starter (though hes good in spurts)

I'm assuming you're being a smartass, seeing how that's what primarily HEAT fans say when they lose.

Frankly though, NYK can't afford to "not care" If they keep on playing .500 ball, they won't get the 2nd seed.

Refs doing all they can to keep the heat from going up by 40.

Heat have to settle for a 17 point lead at half while okc is headed toward shooting more than 50 free throws.

    This is a joke.

This has to be one of the worst officiated games in NBA history, and the Heat are still kicking the **** out of OKC.

Now watch Fin-O come in and derp about Miami fans whining about the refs.

Let me brief a few of you youngsters about the NBA...

They love ratings first and foremost, this is a big regular season matchup on national TV.

When that happens?? The home team especially gets ridiculous calls. This is quite normal, not sure why your guys panties are all in a bunch. I mean you're winning the game??? And even if the Heat would've lost because of the officiating, guess what??? The BS happens all the time.

This concludes my lesson for the day.

This is beyond the home team getting the benefit of the doubt. Not complaining though. Thunder can't beat us in a series. I said it last year too. Their style of play matches up TERRIBLY. I hope pretty badly that we play them again in the finals.

In all honesty, NYK has a better chance of winning a series against us.

Just hope you dodge the team that you are 0-2 against this year and lost by a combined 40 points, you see what you're doing too OKC?? We did that to you, so keep it all in perspective kids.

I'm pretty confident we will sweep you honestly. Indiana scares me the most of any East team. I hope you make it to the conference finals honestly...it will be sweet to watch 4 straight wins going into the finals.

Problem is during the playoffs the Heat employ a different style of defense when they play a primary scorer like Melo. This is the biggest problem I see us having with them. Look at what they did to D Rose in the 2011 ECF.

Watch what they do to rose at the 4:28 and 5 minute marks during winning time. Carmelo might be taller but hes going to have the same challenges and if Lebron's on him, the offense is going to have to come in part from somewhere else and no one else really creates their own shot and hits it with any consistency for us.

Well...season is essentially over since OKC will win the West.

Knicks better worry about dropping to sixth instead of pipe dreams of beating the heat

Serious question for all NBA fans....is MJ mentally deficient?

    http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/8949448/michael-jordan-pick-kobe-bryant-lebron-james

Seriously? That's the criteria used to judge individual players? So because Kobe had Shaq in his prime and Lebron had....no-one until he came to Miami he's the lesser player? Got it. Forget that he's a better rebounder, passer, defender and more efficient scorer.

I lose respect for MJ every time his mouth opens.

True, but Dirk didnt miss a beat when they lost the finals the previous year...we will need JR Smith to play pretty damn good if and when it comes to that. In the mean time I will sit on those 2 blowouts and frustrate thee arrogant Heat fan.
