I mean, they would still be a lottery team, but I think they could win some games.

The other great thing about that trade is we will get some young talent back. I love Parsons and Lamb. On top of that, they might give us draft picks.

That's a great deal for Orlando. Getting rid of all those bad contracts is the first step to rebuilding. Then they get Lamb who I'm a big fan of. They get Terrence Jones who I think can be a very solid Thad Young type pro in the next level, except he can actually rebound and block some shots. They also get Royce White who was imo one of the 5 most talented players in the draft, though obviously has some pretty serious red flags. This on top of all the young pieces they get from Houston + Martin. If they get some 1st rounders on top of that, even better. Houston will continue to be a mediocre mess with Dwight, and once he skips town in FA, that's a bottom 5 NBA team. Hope they make those 1sts protected...

The desperation to try and become a team worth a damn is laughable by the Rockets. The Magic will be getting away with highway robbery ala the Nuggets and Carmelo if that trade ever happens.

Is it true however. Because if it is, I question why it has taken longer then 30 seconds for Magic to accept....

Because the Rockets signed Asik and Lin to offer sheets. If the other teams don't match and the Rockets land either of those guys, they won't be able to take on Orlando's ****ty contracts. So we are just waiting a few days until that passes I assume.

Almost forgot the Rockets offered Asik 3 years 25 mil. The stupidity of this front office should not be underestimated.

Um, has anyone seen rumors f Dwight to LA and Bynum to CLE?

If Cavs somehow end up with Scola an Bynum to pair with Kyrie and Waiters that is a nice little team. If they could retain one of Varejoa and Thompson even better.

I saw it. I much prefer the Rockets/LA deal over the Cleveland/LA deal.

    Knicks made two moves today:
    - Traded Jared Jeffries and Dan Gadzuric for Ray Felton and Kurt Thomas..Thomas has 1 year and 1.4M left, Felton resigned to 3 year/10M deal
    - Did not match 3 year/19M offer by Toronto for Fields

Not sure if the Knicks will match 3 year/25M offersheet on Lin. That 15M balloon payment in year 3 may bite Houston.

The Knicks have improved their roster. Jared Jeffries was a joke. All of a sudden the front court of NY is looking solid. We all know Lin is a revenue generator not an All Star. This is the 2nd best team in the East imo. Woodson has brought in players who get rebounds and play defense. Very happy with these moves.

Thomas will contribute much more than Jeffries. And Felton is a fine PG.

    Knicks killed that trade.

The Knicks won't match the Lin offer.

But that trade...is a nothing trade. Felton is awful and Kurt Thomas is gonna be 40 when the season starts.

Along with Kidd and Camby he will form a group called "The Geriatric Trio". Glen Grunwald was in Las Vegas meeting with Grant Hill yesterday as well as Hill is probably jealous and wants to join the Knicks (seriously...Im not only being sarcastic here). But Grant Hill has flirted with NYK before only to go elsewhere.

Nah thats a solid trade. Jeffries wanted a multi-year commitment (which Portland gave him) coming off Orthkine treatment (same treatment as Kobe and A rod). The NYK can still match Lin and now have a PG who can start if Lin doesnt pan out. Or they can force Houstons hand and stick them with Lin and see if the Rockets do something dumb....which should happen by Monday or so.

FWIW, even though contract terms have been reported the Knicks also have not officially received Houston's offer sheet for Lin though Ive read that will officially happen Monday. Gotta be another move coming imo...

Knicks letting Lin go would be a disaster, although im sure the league wouldnt mind him going to Houston.

This Knicks front court will have a lot of hard fouls to give to the opposition...and especially to soft feminine dinosaur looking big men.

Kidd is just the following example set by the Knicks front office. Drunk at the controls, expensive acquisition inevitably ends up a mangled heap.

Unfortunately for Knicks fans, police can only intervene in one scenario. ;)

Obviously Carmelo thinks that the $25M would be better served on other players that he will not pass to.

So you obviously think Lin is WORTH passing to based on that statement. So in the 22 games Jerryd Bayless started at PG last year for the Raptors and posted 18 and 7 (as opposed to Lins 18 and 8 over 25 games) did anyone even notice that he signed cheaply with the Grizzlies. I bring up Bayless because he had a streak similar to Lin but no one made any kind of deal about this. Personally, I still think the Knicks match Lin. Theyre definitely stacking contracts for other moves because they will be locked out of sign and trades the next few years because theyre over the 74M threshold. They will be limited to the 3M taxpayer exception and league minimum deals.

Also, I love the hate Anthony gets simply because hes an outstanding scorer with the mindset that everytime he gets the ball in position to score hes going to do what he does..no different then Kobe, Durant, etc. Id rather have a player like that then a player who is too scared to take a shot especially when Anthony typically shoots the ball at a reasonable clip and gets to the stripe as much as anyone.

    "Hate"? LOL.

Melo's problem is that he thinks he's in position to score even before he crosses halfcourt.

For NY to be just a team "fighting for an 8 seed" sure are a lot of ppl interested in them.

This Knicks team is going to be helluva defensive unit, and have a deep rotation. 2nd best team in the East

I wish that a team would put out an "all geriatrics" line up. Maybe have Juwan and Kurt Thomas start at forwards, Kidd and Stackhouse in the backcourt with any parker. Also throw in Camby, Kidd, Anthony Carter, Tony Battie and company for lolz. Would be sweet.

Boston has lost a key player and aged, Chicago is meh, Indiana gave Miami a good run but really they are not a scary team.

    Guess we shall see.
