Rockets put Lin and Asik on block with supreme confidence they will get Howard per Berger and Woj. Rockets are this years Nets who were "front runner tremendous" in their meeting with LeBron. But otherwise, how in the hell do people think Moray is a good GM? He throws crap at the wall hoping something sticks
I still remember Moray telling Bosh that with him, the Rockets were a 60 win contender; if he went to Miami, he wouldn't win anything. I read once that quite a few NBA GMs will actually play NBA video games to simulate proposed trades or free agent signings. I'm pretty sure Moray led the way on that.
Section, can you verify how accurate this is? Curious if the NYK would use this S&T for JR and maybe Copeland if either leaves and takes longer then a 2 year deal (keeping the 2015 cap clean). Beck is usually reliable but I havent been able to verify the accuracy of this. Howard Beck Verified account @HowardBeckNYT FYI: The ban on sign-and-trade deals for taxpaying teams applies only to RECEIVING players via s/t. Can still send players out that way.
Lol. Such poetic justice that your team should pick player perceived to be much much "softer" than your favorite target, an much maligned Chris Bosh. Hope Andrea Bargina is as productive as I expect for ya'll. It's gonna be a blast. Sent from my Transformer TF101 using Tapatalk 2
Bargnani deal is official as per Marc Spears. Had to be revised because of Bargnani's trade kicker and the fact that Novak and Camby's salaries decreased by 250k in 2013/2014 season which starts at midnight. NYK give up those 2 plus Q Rich (rumored to be the name...had to be a minimum player so its him or Earl Barron) plus a 2016 1st (which Denver has the right to swap their pick with) and 2 2nds for Bargnani. Also, 2014/15 is an option year for NYK on Bargnani. NYK can buy picks as Peter Vescey points out below with cap savings...and it removes Novak from the cap in 2015. FYI, NYK have only Shump (qualifying offer at just over 3.6M) and Felton (player option for just under 4M). Melo gets resigned that year, Irving, Wall, Love, Rondo, Aldridge, Hibbert all FA's that year. Peter Vecsey ✔ @PeterVecsey1 Just looked it up. NY saved 7.6M on Novak & Camby in '14-15 and 3.75M on Novak in '15-16. That'll buy a first rounder in each of those 2 yrs 12:39 AM - 1 Jul 2013
Big man in the shop does the team little good, ask the Rockets how it worked w/Ming. If the Cavs want to sign Bird Bone Oden for big $$, good luck with that, objectively..he's a roll of the dice at best. Think he would fit in well with the Heat as the culture would allow him just to be a role guy and build up that core strength w/o being the man..go to the Cavs..same stuff as in Portland..
Anywhere he goes it will be just as a role guy. and no one is paying big money for him. He'd have to prove on the court that he could or should be any more than that.
I haven't heard this before, but it seems accurate. it has to do with receiving a player that will occupy the two previous salary slots traded. In other words, you cannot INCREASE your tax burden on a S&T deal.
Oden isn;t going to get any real $$$$ from anybody. Best he can do is one guaranteed year at the vet minimum, and then a series of options based on production/activity.
Sec, where do you think Bynum ends up and how much? He seems like a guy who might have to settle for a 1 year "prove it" deal, and at that price, I'd be interested. If Bird will take the vet minimum (and he might since he still is being paid by Denver), then I'd offer Bynum the mini-mid level, 1 year deal.
I know that the Clippers coveted him at one time, and so did Toronto. I would say that Toronto somehow pays a premium for him. maybe the mini-max. What makes a lot of sense is Cleveland for Al Jefferson...but the Cavs it seems are not interested. NEW RUMOR: the Knicks want Monta Ellis. he wants 50 for 5. If they get him at something close to that, then the Knicks just don't have a clue.
I just don't think Cleveland wants to spend any money this off season and they continue the fanatsy for another year. It's probably smart. Putting LeBron aside, there will be other free agents next eyar and they could always take back a large salary in a trade given their cap space. If that team was located somewhere other than Cleveland I'd say they had a great shot to become a contender in the next 3 years, but alas... How could the Knicks even afford Ellis at $10 million per? Wouldn;t they have to trade Chandler for nothing?
Please please please field a team of really expensive ball stoppers knicks! Please! Been dying to relive the glory days of Francis Starbury. Sent from my phone using Fapatalk 2
Nah. It's even better. Chandler, Amare, Melo, Bargina, Ellis... Formidable. You hear that, Miami? THEY SCAYEHD NOW!! Sent from my phone using Fapatalk 2
Wanna see how Daryl Morey can **** things up? word is that he might trade Parsons, and filler in a S&T to add Josh Smith to go with Harden and D12. they trade Parsons.....that is a mistake.
Well supposedly Howard asked Moray if they could add a 3rd max player, and it makes sense that it would be smoove since him and Dwight are buddies. Houston would be fools to do that. First, Smith is not a max player, second, because there is no sacrifice that Howard or Smith will be amking it will not be possible to field a competent team around them in this CBA environment. the Heat's model still works even under the new system becuase the Big 3 is not getting every dollar they could possibly get. Howard and Smoove are not inetrested in such things.
Sad but true. Great from a basketball standpoint but terrible from a picks standpoint. Win the trade on talent and cap space for 2015 by a long shot
Latest Knicks rumor: Chandler/Shumpert to LAC for Jordan/bledsoe Why? I get it from Clips perspective. Would be great move. But how does it make sense for Knicks?
No it wouldnt. They'd lose 120 to 115 every game. We had dantoni already, I dont need a reincarnation of his lineups and philosophy
As a Heat fan it'd be entertaining for me. It'd be a team I'd put together in a video game or something like that just for fun. For my Knickerbockers brethren, you have my deepest sympathies. I imagine some of these moves make the Dolphins look like they know what they are doing 99% of the time.
There is a report out there, that has a little traction, and I can confirm. Yes, the Heat is one of the teams that have expressed interest in Andrew Bynum. The Heat however will attempt to clear Mike Miller's salary slot for him only, which means that he will be asked to take 5 to 7 million per year, and only after NEXT season. So he would have to sign for a one year guarantee, with a player option, so he can then opt out and get the full MLE, or a rework of the total salary figures on the Heat.
See I only see this as a bad trade in terms of the knicks giving up picks but even the picks they give up are 2 2's (1 of which is OKC's from the brewer deal) and a 1st which Denver had a right to flip flop their draft position with as part of the Melo trade so it probably wasnt going to be a good pick anyway unless both teams bottomed out. The Nets are locked in to their cap mess for the next 4 years really. The Knicks have a clear cap in 2015 and moveable assets (at least more-so then Brooklyn). And the Knicks are still a better team then Brooklyn. Hes set his career high in MSG and dropped 30 there a few times. Last year he actually got hurt there so I cant really include a 12 minute outing in the stats. What actually shocked me about Bargnani is that at the combine the NBA actually tests some players that they feel may be weak in big moments and they do essentially their version of the wonderlic. Bargnani scored off the charts and by all accounts doesnt care what people think. Not saying he will suddenly be an all star or the next Dirk but after doing a fair amount of research Im going on record here saying he will bear much more resemblence to what he was 2-3 years ago when he was a good player and throwing up 18-20-22 a night most nights. Wowsers. That'd be slick for ya'll.
apparently Kyle Korver is going to Brooklyn. also we will be targeting Shaun Livingston, Luke Ridnour or Jamaal Tinsley to replace C.J. Watson
