In other words, all of those times during the series in which he wasn't playing well, he was unimpressive. Conveniently, we're going to exclude the times when he played incredibly and pretend they don't count...because...just because.
I agree, but that would certainly be a nice "get" for the Heat. Sign me up for Tim Hardaway, Jr. Not only would it just be sweet to have both father and son play for the team, he is an athletic guy that just knows how to play. He will be a rotation player for somebody which is what we need moving forward. Young cheap rotation guys. Glen Rice, Jr. is another son I really like.
(forgot to say this) Coolest jersey's I saw at game 7, three dudes, one wearing a SMSV #23 Jersey, a guy wearing a Miami High #50 jersey (UD), and a guy wearing a #3 Marquette Jersey.
Next year...I'm pulling strings...(beg and plead) and getting on a parade float. Done damn near everything in sports, save for that.
Look at you. Already seriously planning something you plan to be doing after the Heat win a third straight championship.
Tell you what though, between Indiana and San Antonio, this year was no duck walk. If it keeps getting even harder then I don't know if we ought to be making early plans for next year's parade.
Hardaway Jr makes a lot of sense since Tim Sr is a scout for the Heat. Id bet that the other guy theyd be looking at if we're talking SEC guy is Archie Goodwin since Caldwell-Pope is a first rounder. I actually want the Knicks to take Hardaway Jr if Dieng is gone. I like his athleticism and ability to handle the ball. Plus he can give you height at guard. Thats a good combination when youre a good player as well.
Heat will improve as well. Health being the biggest improvement. and remember..there is value between Indiana and Chicago beating each other into a pulp next season. (same division) and besides..OKC owns the Spurs...and Westbrook will be healthy..and the Heat own the Thunder..so...you know how that goes...
Heat need to figure out how to beat Roy Hibbert, IMO. Even in 2012, they had to rely on foul trouble to do it. Maybe that's the answer. Just run bodies at him early and often to see if he gets into foul trouble. But if he stops fouling, I think he's a problem for the Heat. I wonder about the Memphis Grizzlies. Heat split with them this year...lost at Memphis 104-86 and won at home 98-91. Lost to them 97-82 in 2011 as well, snapping a 17 game home win streak.
Hibbert had an insanely good offensive series against the Heat. Way, way above his averages, both regular stats and metrics. question is whether he is that good or the Heat just didn;t defend him well. If you look back at Game 7, the Heat decided to double him more and rendered him a virtual non-factor. That just may need to be the strategy. Can't worry about who you might play in the Finals but Memphis in odd position moving forward. They are going more to analytics based organization and want younger guys playing. Also, completely unrelated, can the Heat put in an advance claim on 10 year old Zaire Wade? http://ftw.usatoday.com/2013/06/dwyane-wades-son-is-also-really-good-at-basketball/
If/when the Heat win their fourth in a row then their dominance will overwhelm the hate. Until then people will hate. Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk 4 Beta
remember that the Grizzlie victories came with Rudy Gay. he has always for whatever reason done well vs. Lebron.
So how is this Doc Rivers to the Clippers deal done? I thought that David Stern said that Coaches can't be traded, so.....how is it a done deal?
He said coaches cant be traded for players. He was traded for a 1st round pick. Im skeptical until its confirmed....
I think Hibbert is just a player that the Heat don't deal with very well. I'm not even that worried about his offense. It's his defense that the Heat seem to have trouble with. You look at last year and the Pacers were something ridiculous like +62 with him on the court but he kept getting into foul trouble and that made a huge difference. Then you look at this series which was really tight, and the difference may truly come down to Frank Vogel's idiotic decision to take him out on the play where Lebron caught and ran in for a layup in a matter of like 2.5 seconds. With Hibbert in, Lebron can't do that and the Heat have to settle for a shot from Bosh on the outside, and lord knows that could've gone either way. I just think he's a guy the Heat have trouble with and they need to spend some time figuring that out. Immediately after they lost to the Heat in the playoffs for the second time in a row, they said that their singular focus in the off season will be figuring out how to beat Miami.
Hes done well vs Lebron because hes one of the few players that matches up with lebron athletically. Rudy has a very long reach which bothers a lot of great players (Carmelo, Lebron, Durant), he can handle the physicality of Lebron's game, and offensively it doesnt seem to affect him. Actually what bothers me about Rudy Gay is that he could be on the level of those guys but hes never really elevated his game to that level. I dont know if thats expecting too much from him, if its just not in his personality to want to be the dominant player on the court, or if he simply doesnt work hard enough at becoming a better player but having watched him since he was in HS as a top recruit and watching him at Uconn years ago, his game just never really developed as far as I thought it would. But the reason he bothers so many great scorers is because he can.
Udonis Haslem is absolutely stealing this celebration... Question: "You have the reputation of an enforcer on this team..." UD: "I have been known to kick a little *** around here....Well yeah...I never thought I would be making this much money, so they tell me that all I gotta pay is about $2,000 to slap somebody upside his head...I'll gladly pay it.".
I knew i would miss the parade by 1 day as I come back from my cruise and stayed at Bayside pre and post cruise. oh well, Atleast i got some Heat gear at the official store at the arena yesterday. And i did see the games on the cruise, wow game 6
Hmmm I thought coaches couldn't be traded at all but hey its the NBA they'll make up a rule or ignore one to get the players/coaches wherever they want them. Always have.
Latest draft rumor that I absolutely love, just for the schadenfreude Luol Deng to Washington for the 3rd pick. To make this work it would require Elton Brand opting in for $14 million with the Wiz and then getting traded. So if this happened the Bulls, that great organization that has never paid the luxury tax, full of hard working scrappy guys, would dump Deng, one of their better players, for an Otto Porter type and pay elton Brand $14 million just for the privilege of drafting an Otto Porter type. Hilarious. And people wonder why Rose wasn't all that jazzed about busting his *ss for this franchise, or why no free agents of any quality (sorry boozer) have any interest in going there. Dumping Deng would hurt the Bulls in the short term while giving no future guarantees. Rose will be taking his talents to South Beach in 3-4 years.
I posted earlier, but it's not "trading" a coach, even though it's just semantics. For example, Denver could call us and ask us for permission to interview Spo. If we allowed them to talk, and they wanted to hire Spo, we'd be entitled to compensation for allowing him out of his contract, which we could otherwise hold him to. Much the way the Heat squatted on Van Gundy until they got compensation from the Magic.
"Their names are going to be respected and honored," Riley said. "And that's all we have. All we have is the name on the front of the shirt, which is the Heat, and the name on the back of the shirt. And that's why we play."
Laker fans in full envy....making **** up about our parade (that happened to have more people than the Laker 09' parade.) if we can get some Knick fans in on this...it's a sweep.
I can appreciate brutal honesty. Haslem's quote is the brutal truth, Andersons quote is just really funny.
I'm gonna TRY my best to be in Ny next year for their 2014 parade, I'll have a 10 month old son so not so sure I can just take off that easy. Forgive me in advance Boik, and enjoy.
Or the Bulls could simply take back Okafor instead of Brand and make it work that way. Its not a bad idea if you think about it. The bulls already have Jimmy Butler at the 2 and with porter at the 3 they get a player who is much younger healthier and more athletic then Deng. It increases their team athleticism. Deng is good but Porter imo will be a better player. I watched him for the last few years and he keeps improving. It makes the Bulls younger and its admission they arent good enough now.
Considering the bulls once refused to put Deng into a deal for Kobe bryant, the fact they're willing apparently, to deal him straight up for Otto Porter or victor Oladipo is hilarious to me.
LOL. Yep..no haters...LOL! Bill Simmons has emerged out of his cave to do a podcast.....it is on Madmen, James Gandolfini and Game of Thrones. Nevermind his perfect record for epic podcasts after Heat losses. He has not said a WORD since the coronation.
Im a Wizards fan and I'd be pissed if we made that trade. We actually have one of the best young backcourts in the NBA if we can get a really solid young SF or PF we actually will be contending when the Heats big three break up in a few years.
