They can try. But nobody is going to take Amare's uninsured contract. Though who knows since Deron hasn't been very good this year either.

Take a struggling amare over a struggling deron any day. Good big>good guard.

How much of that is literally playing by yourself every night though? If you're talking about games for this week, I can kind of understand that, but I'd the house on Williams vastly out-performing Amare for the life of Amare's contract.

I disagree, a good PG can make a decent PF a good PF, IMO.

but down the road...there is no comparison..you take into account, injury history, and it is a no brainer.

Wanna see how I have the Knicks in position to beat the Heat?

    Trade Melo for Deron.

Trade Amare and Chandler for D12.

Sign Gerald Wallace as a FA. (The one and only real Lebron stopper)

you still would have about 10 mil left over for FA's and bench.

So Dwight Howard, if you don't get traded, how about considering Cleveland this offseason?

And vice versa. Additionally PGs are overrated IMO. As long as your guards aren't ballhogs you don't need a traditional pg.

No way Magic let Dwight walk. If he does walk I hope he strongly considers Minnesota. Nets are trying to get Mayo so I'm guessing they will move Brooks to SF. What are the chances Pacers move Granger?

I disagree. Rubio makes everyone on the floor better. You need a point that can see the floor and make passes. You can't just plug anyone at point. Look how much the Grizzlies paid Conley not a great scorer but he has great ball handling, passing, and plays great defense. You need a point more so than a PF.

Great PF's are more important than great PG's. Problem is, Amare isn't a great PF. No defense, no rebounding, injury issues.

It goes both ways. Deron Williams with nobody to help him isn't doing very well either. Nor is Steve Nash on his trash team. Rondo is having his best season yet, yet the Celtics suck. Nobody is capable of doing it on their own.

Ok quick who else was actually good on Gasol's Grizzlies? KG's wolves did fine when they had KG and Sprewell. Blake Griffin was a rookie last year and there were personnel changes all year and injury issues to Gordon, Kaman and Mo Williams. I could easily point to Deron Williams if you wanted to use those examples but the same injury issues and disadvantages would apply.

I would take a good big over a good PG just based on position scarcity alone. You can find PG's..Rondo, Nash, Parker, Jeff Teague, Ty Lawson...the list just goes on..All drafted late and all viable PG's. Any of them aside from Teague (who is having a good year) are all all star caliber. You dont find all star bigs late in the draft..just doesnt happen.
No word on that anywhere else. Kupchak and Buss both said weeks ago that Gasol and Bynum wouldnt be both dealt for Dwight so unless something changed drastically I call BS.

The best part about Miller's game tonight? This is the guy who the entire media said should be amnestied.

One game doesn't really make them wrong. I'm not saying the media is/was right, but one game isn't justification for or against that opinion.

I was at the Cavs game tonight - if you get the chance to see Irving play, do it. He's a way better finisher than I expected.

Love to see what happens when he gets some decent guys around him. I know Rubio looks great, but I'd love to see what Irving could do if he had that many scores around him as well.

    Nah. not really.

whenever he plays, he plays real good. He had no hands last year.

    This year..makes his Debut...6 for 6 from 3..18 points and 4 rebounds..plays good defense...yeah..we'll keep him.

I find it funny how people swear this is Wade's team, yet the Heat are 8-1 without him. It's nothing against Wade, but I don't think the Heat's record will be as good without Lebron.

Also, Magic in the lead for the division. :)

Magic are 2nd according to ESPN, currently matched up with the Cavs in playoff seeding.
