Since the other thread has run its course, I guess Ill make my predictions here to start this thing off:

    MVP: The Durantula Kevin Durant
ROY: Kemba Walker (Off to a good start with 2 GW FT's in the final seconds tonight)
    Most Improved: DeAndre Jordan
Comeback Player of the Year: Tyreke Evans (Season cut short last year with Plantar Fasciatis, expecting a return to 20-5-5)
    DPOY: Dwight Howard
    PPG Leader: Durant
    RPG Leader: Howard
    APG Leader: Chris Paul
    BPG Leader: DeAndre Jordan
    SPG Leader: Chris Paul
    Finals Prediction: Thunder over Heat

Just glad Minnesota is somewhat relevant again. If Aldeman knows whats good he will start Rubio.

Not a good night for Irving to start the season with. Thompson played ok (better than I expected), and Alonzo Gee needs to be in the starting lineup. Hollins needs to be off the team (only 7 footer I've seen who gets blocked on 3 different dunk attempts), and Jameson needs to try on defense and stop taking shots beyond 18 ft (and even that is stretching it). Can't wait until he's gone after this year, and/or when Thompson takes his starting spot later this year. And Varejao makes some great hustle plays, but for the love of god, learn how to make an easy bucket. He makes the ridiculous ones, but freaking 8 ft away with no one around he can't sink it. ****ing ridiculous.

When Rubio learns to make a jump shot...watch out. Beasley is a blackhole though, ball goes too him and it NEVER gets passed out.

How would this happen? Honest question. The Heat can keep up with the Thunder's up-tempo and even beat them at that game.

The same way any team wins, you score more points :)

Size on the front line with Durant-Ibaka-Perkins. Westbrook's maturation as a PG would be a big key obviously. I think OKC probably would need a strong series from James Harden. I didnt say the Heat would get smoked 4-0...figure a 6-7 game series that OKC wins in the end.

Beasley has poor shot selection, and overall just makes bad choices. I'm fine with Rubio not being a scoring option right now. Just seeing him command the offense is amazing. Haven't had a competent PG in a long time. He showed great vision, nice passing, and solid defense. Sucks that no one else on the team can play defense. He did make a few mistakes mainly being to aggressive on defense resulting in easy baskets but overall impressed. He had some nice passes to Derrick Williams tonight.

Also want to mention Wes Johnson is the worst 2 guard in the NBA. Also I hate Perkins. Glad Darko planted his ***.

Wishful thinking. OKC doesn't play good enough defense, Durant gets pushed around and bullied by LBJ, Westbrook has no chance vs. Wade, and Bosh has free reign because Ibaka is too slow to defend him, so they will use Collison. good luck on that.

I do like them to make the finals though.

Which is a great example of "the only option has lots of opportunity", when he is all the team believes it has on offense, they get to do exactly that, see Iverson and Areanas.

You wind up with Reggie Theus, as long as they are 'the guy" they put up good stats, move them to another team, and usually they are not as good.

Like watching Arenas throw up shot after shot in Orlando in the playoffs and later regular season last yr, wasn't hitting anything, kept putting the ball up.

    My predictions:

    Western Conference Champions: Dallas

    Eastern Conference Champions: NYK

    :shifty:

Ricky Rubio was fun last night..but let's get real. He is a sideshow now, a circus attraction. he has a ways to go to become a good basketball player.

Michael Beasley..wow..he makes Rony Seikaly blush. He is the NEW black hole.

The Arenas example is a poor one. He had a catastrophic injury and since the injury he has no lift and thus, no jump shot. An injury ruined his career. it had nothing to do with a change in scenery. Guy had to begin to shoot the ball differently, after shooting a certain way his whole life.

    he gets a pass.

Love that with the ridiculous deals handed out to big men this offseason, Varejao suddenly looks affordable. He could net something decent in return. As could Sessions if he keeps playing well.

I was hard on the Thompson pick, but he played well. As did Gee. Disappointed with Casspi.

If this were 2k12, I wouldn't just trade Jamison, I would delete him from the game.

I'm kind of hoping for just that. I realize Varejao is a fan favorite (not this fan), but he should be more valuable to us in a trade than he is actually on the team.

He looks like a vet PG out there. He takes risk on defense and for that he will get burned. It will only hurt the wolves if they give him the Rondo treatment from last year leaving him wide open looks and him bricking it.

Not to mention the fact that the Heat actually have that little thing called defense.

Crap, now we have to explain to the Knicks fans here what defense looks like.....

So improvements on a young team cant and dont happen? Especially when youre adding a nice piece like Perkins in the middle for a full season?

You dont need to explain defense to Knicks fans, you need to explain it to Coach Pringles.

The thing about the Thunder is they mirror Miami style wise now. The only difference is Miami has two of the best fast break players in the NBA. Perkins is no longer a space eater, he's Serge Ibake version 2.

Look guys he predicted the Heat to go the NBA finals again and that's a pretty good accomplishment. I'm sure if his predictions last year would've been Mavs in 6 you would've ripped him also. Heat look much better mentally thus far and this could very well be their year, but that's why they play the games.

Seriously, its like you cant win. Its not like I made a homer pick here. I show respect and think theyre good enought o actually get to the finals for the 2nd year in a row and I get reasons why it wont happen. No one else made any predictions.

Also, I read something today where someone predicted the Cavs signing James Harden for a max deal in 2013. That thought might keep me going for a while, because Harden is my favorite Thunder player.

    and of course...

Improvements on the Heat Can't and won't happen. Especially when you are adding Haslem, and Miller healthy for a season, and Battier, Norris Cole to the rotation, while the the Big Three play together another year.

Yep. A completely unbiased analysis on your part. Everybody improves...the Heat just languishes and regresses.

    Like I said. Wishful Thinking.
