Everyone wants to put our failure this season to one thing or another. Heck even the last few years that have been possible explanations and speculations. But after watching the game today I finally realized why. During the 1st quarter they showed a stat on the tv: From the 1998 draft to the 2003 draft there is only one player that is still on the roster. That one player is Yeremaih Bell and he was on IR this year. As the commentators said, you can't win when it's like you've virtually don't participate in the draft.

6 losses by 3 points doesn't help much either ..

This stat is overused now, they've been banging on about it for the past three years. It is the reason we suck, but I'm tired of hearing about it. We have had two solid drafts on the bounce now, one more and we should hopefully begin to see the rewards.

This stat is not overused, this is the most important stat ever. And you're right we have had to sold drafts and we should start seeing the rewards. But to the people who say we weren't rebuilingthis year ....that oddly sounds like what's going on.

the most tell tale stat as to why we were 1-15 this year is we gave up 153 rushing yards per game, last in the league... and our 3rd down % on defense was 47%, again last in the league...

We probably lead the league in torn ACLs as well.

I think the main problem is we have only been averaging around 16 points a game the last couple years. It is hard to win when you cannot score and you have a defense that is old and slow. Injuries also have killed us. I think the Tuna will turn it around....we just have to draft smarter, bring in a real QB, and stay healthy.

Yes we aren' t scoring points, yes our defense is porous, but why is this all occuring. Bottom line is we don't have the players. And the reason for that is because of the fact nobody from our past 7 drafts are on our rosters. guys from 1998-2000 should be our leading vets, and and guys from 2001-03 should just be hitting their prime and contributing.

Well the thread starter was speaking to WHY we are so bad. The fact that we gave up 153 ypg rushing and were last in the league on 3rd down conversions speaks to how bad we are. But the crappy drafts are a huge reason as to WHY this is happening. And I think that's all the poster was trying to state. In other words we (quite possibly) may be the weakest depth wise in the league.

Well we led the league in Pornstaches for a few years, I think that was a major contributor to our decline. I think that led to bad drafting and personnel decisions, and that is leading to other stats like last in the leage in run D and 3rd down D and scoring 16 points a game. Dave should be a 4 letter word.

Sorry to any other Daves out there, no offence intended

Agree with all the issuus stated so far. But to me the QB position is the main reason.

You also cant win when almost half your team is injured. I bet the Patriots wouldn't be where they are if that were to happen to them!
