The Krystals Appreciation Thread

you'd never think little, square hamburgers could make you feel like your stomach is carrying a big bucket of grease inside of it. But they're so delicious, topped with small, squared bread, layered with onions and cheese(optional), with ketchup and mustard. Sometimes I add mayo. I got a Krystals Square Meal car sitting on top of my stereo, and a 12 krystal pack box on my dresser(the drive-thru cashier was so nice). Krystals is like White Castle, only, its just better. Plus, we dont have a White Castle down here. In fact, we only have one Krystals down here in Ft. Lauderdale, Powerline Rd and Sunrise Blvd. Its kinda in a shady part of town, but nonetheless, I am a brave sole who craves those little burgers no matter what. So make Krystals a part of your ever increasing unhealthy diet, you wont be as sorry as you would eating Taco Bell.

I got indigestion just from reading the title of this thread. Some appreciation :(
BTW, White Castle kills Krystals ;)

They Sold Krystals in the frozen food machine at my old job. 2 burgers for $1.50. They made for some killer late night snacks when I got stuck working late.
man that would be cool. i have to buy like a $6 pack for like a half a dozen krystals at my job.
what are those, jumbo krystals in the picture? the krystals i have come to know have like 1/8 of an inch thick "meat" patties

We don't have either here...
When I lived in Alabama for a little while I used to eat at White Castle every other day. I've never had Krystals.

I have to go to St louis to get white castle. If Im visiting my family in nashville I always eat there.

wow, I remember when Krystals were 25 cents for each burger. My fav is the mini chili dogs at Krystal.

In & Out rules all Fast food burgers.

Wow ... haven't had one of those in 25 years.

bah...I had always heard that. I had my first one ever last week, and I was hardly impressed. I'd take a Carls Jr or Hardess burger, or even Steak and Shake over In&Out any day.

Yeah, I call those little "kangaroo" patties "gut-busters"! Eat one, half an hour later you want to die or crap!

The thing I like about Krystals, or at least the one they had up in Knoxville, was the walk up window they had. There would always be a line of drunk guys standing there at 2 in the morning getting some food. Any time I was studying :shifty: in the freshman dorms and I got a food craving I could just walk down there.
dude i eat on the street in Mexico, we used to go to eat at the Chupacabras tacos in Coyoacan, they say they have 100 different types of meat and if you can guess all of them then they give you something like tacos free for life. They keep all their raw meat in bags they pick up from the sidewalk right by the cart. I used to go eat at a place by my college that we called Salmonella drive, which has a sewer line running right in the middle of it... I used to go have Gorditas at "Dirty Harry" and Quesadillas with "Mrs. Hairs"... And yet the only place where my stomach has given away to the pain and a stomach infection... was Whitecastle.

In the old times it was not a crime!!!!
Krystals absolutely rock !
When we lived in Atlanta, my dad and I would have Krystal eating contests every once in a while.
Little empty boxes littered all over the tale by the end.

ahhh I would die for an In&out burger right now. it's been a year and half since I visited my brother in San Diego and had one and I crave it every day.
BTW to the topic fo the thread I lived the first five years of my life in Georgia and I still remember eating at Krystals once a week. Now up here i have to drive an hour to eat at white castle, which I do regularly. Big difference IMO is the mustard!!! Krystals rule!! However In&Out > all other burgers!

Anytime Doc. How far is St. Louis from spfd Ill?
I can honestly say I have never eaten a Krystals burger. I love white castle though. My dad always says why don't you just skip the middle man and splatter it all over the toilet. I don't know where he got that from I'm guessing a comedian.

In Seattle we have

a local icon. Nothing like a Dick's Deluxe when you have a craving for something wickedly delicious.
But back in the day...

...there was Royal Castle, where happiness in the form of a birch beer (variation of root beer) and little burgers with onions - or a Feastburger - could be had cheap.
Right Marty? :hi5:
