New England won't be Superbowl Champs

New England got embarrassed at home

Tom Brady choked in a critical game

Bill Bellichoke choked in a critical game

    Bill Bellichick got outcoached.

I could keep going....it makes me feel better at least

They may actually win this championship game IMO. They can be Pittsburgh. Hopefully they won't lol.

    Patriots have no clothes!!!!!

    :chuckle:

Jets are on their 5th yr from some solid Mangini draft classes in 06-08, but you have to give them credit, back to back AFC Title games and this yr they did not back in, they earned it

Agreed. They earned it this year. To get to the Superbowl, they'd have to beat Indy, New England, and Pittsburgh, all on the road.

But they are in the second year with a 24 year old QB. That is what still amazes me. Most of the time, starting a rookie QB sets you back.

Look at the pieces they put around him though, Holmes, Edwards, LT, Oline that has been healthy and intact for yrs.

The one thing I have noticed with Sanchez is, you never know which Sanchez will show up, in the playoffs he has been really good, in the regular season he is up and down.

Eh, we do quite well against the Jets so for me this achievement is not as much of a problem as if the Patrtiots had just rolled into the SB, with all of those draft choices, and Brady, they would have been formidable for yrs to come, the Jets are sort of built for the Right Now that is the downside to having 4 or 5 draft picks for the last couple of yrs.

I heard yesterday that the Jests players have 100 playoff games between them. They pick up Sanchez, he doesn't pick them up. Yes, he had some great plays yesterday, and I even gave him props, but what he's doing right now is not throwing INT's and keeping plays alive with his legs. His O-Line, running game, and veteran WR's are helping him more than he's helping himself.

If I had the time, I'd go back and pull up the countless posts that said: 1. LT is old and done, 2. Holmes is a problem child, and 3. Edwards can't catch a cold  Suddenly the Jets have an All Pro team, coached by the ghost of Lombardi.

And on offense, they have a bright future. OLine, except for Woody, is young. Greene is a powerful runner and when LT hangs them up they will use McKnight to fill that role. Cotchery is not old (and signed). Either Edwards or Holmes will be resigned (I hope it's Edwards - he is a complete receiver). Keller is in his 3rd year. You can make a case for the defense being old, but Ryan is proving he can scheme with anybody.

He's a 24 year old 2nd year QB. What do you want from the guy?

He's no Manning or Brady, no doubt. But we know where those guys are right now.

He is on a veteran team with coaches who have enough sense to bring him along. That makes a huge difference. The QB does have to have some ability as well.

It's never Sanchez, don't you know? The guy makes some wonderful throws but it wasn't him. It was his supporting cast. Oh and the ball, it was definitely the ball!

I find it hard to believe that so many Miami fans truly believe he is garbage. What is the big deal about saying he is an OK QB? Do the Dolphin police come and rip your Marino posters off your wall if you do?

All the teams have their flaws, but Aaron Rodgers is the only elite QB left out of the four and that defense is damn good.

No the rapist is not an elite QB. Very good but not elite, he's too stupid to be considered elite.

True. There were two other elite QB's in the playoffs and they got sent home by the Jets. But no doubt Rodgers is the best QB left, followed by Rothlisberger.

That I give you credit for, your team handled the "big boys". No doubt you guys are elite, as much as that pains me to say it. I still cant see Mark Sanchez becomoming anything than just good. But hey he is more than just the next Namath. Why would the Jets want another ****ty overrated QB?

That's how some people try to make themselves feel better amidst the misery of being a Dolphins fan. I guess it's easier to downplay some things than to just realize that only clowns have run the Miami Dolphins for ten years. They hire the wrong coaches, pick the wrong QBs, it really doesn't end.

The road they are taking to the Super Bowl is sooooo eerie to the one the Giants took a few years ago, wins on the road against tough teams and rivals, young QB and a tough defense.

the colts and patriots were far more flawed then people were willing to admit. people only saw their offenses but never looked at their defenses. neither had a championship caliber defense. new england has never recovered from getting rid of seymour on their dline. pittsburgh is a completely different animal when it comes to defense. sanchez will be under pressure all game long and there will be no running game. he will have one mismatch to exploit and thats the pitt secondary but he wasnt really able to do that in the first game and i dont see him doing it in the second game. pittsburgh will win and i dont think it will even be close

The Pats 14-2 record was a mirage. They just needed to be exposed, right? It just took the 17th try in the season for it to happen :eyeroll:

Sanchez was sacked once in the week 15 game. The Jets rushed for 106 yards. Sanchez had an 81 QBR.

The Jets are capable of winning this game.

you won the game because you ran back the opening kickoff for a TD, JT got a safety and Roethslisberger was missing wide open receivers all game long. You scored 13 points on offense. you wont get those breaks again. the steelers will be ready. and polamalu will help shutting down your run game

as for the patriots i'm on record months ago saying they would get bounced in the playoffs early. anbyone who watched theiur defense could see it coming. whether it was you or someone else it didnt matter. they werent championship material.in fact i had you guys yesterday. I had the jets and under and if your moron RB wouldve taken a knee after getting the first down you could have run out the clock and i would have hit both bets. just more reason to hate the jets lol

face it. you're the jim kelly buffalo bills just without the SB appearances. You are the modern version of the Kosar Browns, the Moon Oilers, the Rivers Chargers. Sadly we're the Lions but still....The AFC Championship game is kryptonite to the Jets

I can answer that cause I did see him play. He was an average QB who had one good year, and gets far more credit than he deserves. Even the "good" year was average. The Jets running game and defense won that Super Bowl for them, not Namath. The rest of his career was mediocre to bad at best.

For his career he barely completed 50% of his passes. In his 13 year career he had TWO years where he had more TDs than INTs, and in that same 13 year career had SEVEN years where he didn't even complete 50% of his passes. Highest ever QR was 74, and was 65.5 for his career. His career record was 62-63-4.

Mediocre, and - keeping true to time-honored Jets tradition - was more well known for running his mouth than anything else. :tongue2:

I was born in 1967 and I never saw him play (at least that I remember). I can only go by what was said/written about him and his statistics (which are not impressive, especially by today's standards. Interesting to note that Don Shula respected Namath:

I caught alot of his games when I was young though all of them were after his super bowl. He was a bit like the end of Marino's career, great arm but his knees were so shot he was as much a liability as a force. And its a damn good point about the rule changes. You cant possibly compare statistics now to those days. Football nowadays is nothing but flag football but even less violent. I heard some old timers say that when he still had some mobility in his legs he was pretty damn good for what its worth
