The Jake Long Thread. [Update] Signing w/ Rams

I have a feeling Jake met with reality....

He was not getting the money he wanted and, following Section's lead here, his wife wore him OUT. The best thing to happen was for them to stay for longer than a day.

I bet he resigns by Sunday.

Damn folks. This is getting very interesting.

I gotta say, the level that these guys are sticking together to bring big Jake back to Miami is very intriguing....very very intriguing.

I've already said it a couple of times, this offense is going to be cut very short if we don't get Long or somebody comparable to replace him, and I personally don't care what the ney-sayers are saying, it is almost impossible to replace this guy.

C',mon Ireland, give him the keys to the Dolphin mobile. Lets get the big galute back in Aqua and Orange.....

I don't know if this is a 'let me test the waters' thing, or an 'ok I'll come back and take what I can get thing.' If Jake wants to come back, that's cool, but I'd rather he come back wanting to actually play here, not because he couldn't get paid more someplace else. I know it's a business and all that, but that's how I feel. I would think he'd be excited to come back with all of the FA moves we've made in the past few days. If he comes back, I hope he's happy to be here, and his injuries are behind him.

Wise move considering the OL's effectiveness is in large part having cohesiveness. And the best way to build a winner is to keep the core group of players together, as long as they are younger and healthy, and add to it. He was battalion commander in the Seventh Marines on the Canal... Where he earned his 3rd and 4th Navy Crosses (he eventually had 5!)
That was one of the groups my dad's regiment relieved when the 2nd Mardiv moved onto the Canal.

Cripes! Talk about overspending! I would love to have had him here, but not at north of 9mil a year. If he hadn't been hurt the last 2 years maybe, but that's alot for a dinged up 30 year old reciever.
