One of the reasons I want Jake back is that I was not very impressed with Martin at either T.

And I don't think Keller can give Martin the help Fasano did....

 

I wonder if plan B is Vollmer at a cheaper number....if that's the case would that be a better signing anyway?

 

If you were able to go there, it would be like doing them both at the same time.....

Too bad the option isn't Long at LT and Vollmer at RT. Realistically, would much rather have Long at LT and Martin at RT than Martin at LT and Vollmer at RT. Vollmer is coming off injuries the past two years as well (back, knee) so he and Jake are similar in that aspect.

 

He is one of the last missing pieces. I really feel like this staff can bring these guys together. Come on home, Jake!! Be a Dolphin for life!

 

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports free agent LT Jake Long "checked out fine" in his Rams physical, and there were "no red flags."

The sides' inability to agree to a deal is all about money. The Rams' offer surely takes into account Long's recent injury history, but there are no current worries. While it was obviously a good sign for the Dolphins' chances of re-signing Long that he left St. Louis without a contract, there haven't been any rumblings he's on the verge of re-upping with Miami. That could change in a hurry over the weekend.

 

Hope we sign him. Can't stomach the possibility of trading up to draft another tackle.

It's not my parents truck, its mine.

It is a 2011 Lariat Kingcab with a 302 and in the Golden Bronze color. 2011 was the first year for it, and it is AMAZING.

I suggest it is a sports car cause of the way it climbs from 3000-5500 r's...and it handles more like a car than a truck.

Hopefully I get out of North Texas this summer and see how well the 4x4 works

I'm not sure how you come to that conclusion. Brady has certainly been well protected with Vollmer as one of his starting tackles. If your concern is with Martin at left tackle, I can understand your concern. But if your worry is Vollmer, I really don't see him as a player who would be a problem on the offensive line.

Long would be my first choice if the price is right, but Vollmer certainly wouldn't be a bad alternative, if Long decides to sign with another team. I just don't know if Martin is up to playing LT on a regular basis in the NFL.

Once again, Martin was and is my favorite pick of last years draft.

In a few years, I think the kid is going to be an upper echelon Tackle. Will it be Left Tackle? I think we will have to wait 3 years to find out. As of right now, he REALLY struggled playing Right Tackle.
He is no where near ready to play Left Tackle, so yes, having anybody at RT and Martin at Left Tackle is where I have a problem.

Volmer is an above average RT. I doubt seriously he ever plays LT unless it is due to filling in for an injured LT

He sucked bad last year, no doubt about that. He needs to improve significantly just to become a decent tackle this year.

 

Because most folks don't have the foresight to believe he can improve, even though there are recent examples of other OTs also struggling as rookies and developing into stalwarts in a couple seasons.

 

Also led by a creative fan pretending to be their dog.

 

He played out of position for part of the year (Martin). Anyone who has played on the OL knows it is not the same playing left and right tackle. Swing tackles are unique in their ability to pop in at either side.

Or, they might not want to gamble the season on foresight. The season is probably an overstatement, but the point remains. Martin may improve, but he might not, and he'd have to improve significantly to reach the level of Longs worst year.

Who was arguing against resigning stars?

Someone pointed out its not a foregone conclusion that Martin is going to suck. Clean just reinforced that sentiment, and you pop in with the incredibly deep, "you-can't-guarantee-players-to-become-great-if-they-haven't-become-great-yet" nugget.

Because in weeks 16-17 he looked like he had many of the same issues as in pre-season and weeks 1-2.

This I don't have great confidence in his progress.

 

Looks cooler than that Raptor truck IMO.

I guess I missed the posts denigrating Martin then? I did see a bunch saying, or implying, that they preferred Long over Martin at LT, but if you don't prefer Martin, then why defend him when he isn't being attacked in a thread about Long?

Soooo, you read one post and respond based on what you think happened in other posts? I'm confused.

 

I'm curious about the off road specs of this truck. The Raptor is a performance truck that was made for the baja. It's about 7 inches wider than a regular F150, and the suspension is something else. I want one with the 6.2 L that has 411 horsepower.
