Oh, man. Between my new TV and the actual content of Marlins games, I'm having a very hard time keeping up with the team. Everyone slumps, but losing to the Reds and Royals?
We are finally showing what everyone expected of us....once our offense cools down, its lights out for the fish sadly......
Marlins signed Jacque Jones http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3402772 Pretty good signing IMO, he can play all 3 spots and should give you guys another solid veteran
Jones will be on extended spring training in Jupiter for an indefinite period of time. But given how we've wanted him for about two years, you can bet he'll be called up as soon as he hits a stride. Looks like Hendrickson will be pitching tomorrow. Good guy to lead the series off with. We'll be getting Hendrickson and Olsen against the D-Backs, and we'll need them. Anyone know if we have to go up against Brandon Webb?
would love to see the other NL contenders play with 3 SP's on DL. IF we can fight through it, look out
Two hours away from the game. I'm nervous about this one. If we play to our ability we can win tonight and Thursday. Tomorrow I'm not so sure about.
Excellent game. Too bad I couldn't see it in HD; something about DirecTV wanting me to pay them more money. Great job by Kevin Gregg at the end. Two innings with no hits is solid stuff. That guy is quickly becoming a top-tier closer. But we need to stop leaving so many runners on base. We could've won this game 7-2.
True but I think they left more men on base than even we did, so in theory they could have won 8-7. I'll take it. Hope Hanley comes back around.
Nice start for Ricky. Also, what's the record for most home runs by a Marlin in a single month? I think Cliff Floyd has it, but I can't remember if it was 11, 12, or more. I believe Uggla has 11 in the month of May.
dont know man, hopefully we can get something going against webb. he does a good job of forcing grounders
Yep, the best Webb can do is a no decision tonight. Not going to happen; Webb will be 9-1 if Kevin Gregg does his normal thing. (Anyone know what kind of shades Gregg wears?)
Kevin Gregg is ice cold. Hermida's catch ends the game, Marlins leading the D-Backs series 2-0. Man, it's nice to see this team win again. I'm not worried about Cantu. It's a 162-game season. You have your ups and downs.
The problem is that Dallas has more strikeouts than games played. Last time I checked it was like 49 k's in 30 some games. Plus our AAA ballpark is very hitter friendly unlike Dolphin stadium. Plus plus his numbers in AAA are barely better than Cantu has this year. Better to stick with Cantu IMO since Dallas isnt even that much better defensively.
I think he's batting something like .254 and still striking out a bunch. Hitting way too many ground balls from what I hear.
