Hanley with two homers for a second straight win, 9-2. Nice. Let's get back on track after that disaster of a road trip.
The heck is this thread doing way down at the bottom of the first page? We won last night, we're 3.5 games ahead of the Chickens, and 3 games back of the Philthies--who WILL choke later in the season. Willingham is on the way to a return, too.
Andrew Miller did a great job too. I think by the end of the season, Olsen and Miller will be vying for the perception of being the team's best pitcher. The battle for the #1 pitcher spot will be very fun in next year's Grapefruit League. Damn, we really raped Detroit in that trade. And I hate to say that, because D-Train is my favorite pitcher.
cantu is also on fire and may be the comeback player of the year if josh hamilton isnt in consideration
They have Comeback Player of the Year for both the NL and AL. I believe Hamilton already won it last year anyway.
Cantu is in line for it, as long as he keeps this pace.....guys been HUGE....and i think he has 13 homeruns, if he gets 2 more.....we will have 4 players over 15, uggle, hanley, jacobs and cantu!!!!! I love it!!!!
And AGAIN the thread is down at the bottom of the first page. I really thought this sucker would be self-sustaining by now.
I can't figure this team out. They're capable of scoring in the double digits, but they've been choking lately.
absolutley....we gotta beat the teams we are better than....and we are better than the Mariners.....Miller pitched another great ball game last night, im lovin watchin him pitch recently, he has such a live fast ball....love this kid
thats right! 2 Back need a sweep of oakland!!!! And great F'in news.... Josh Johnson set to return by the allstar break......and hammer set to return by the earliest...TUESDAY!!!!!! http://florida.marlins.mlb.com/news...t_id=2957815&vkey=news_fla&fext=.jsp&c_id=fla
Ok, I'm gonna put it out there. If the Marlins are still in it by the All-Star break, I think they try to trade for a strating pitcher or a middle reliever. I think Jacobs will be traded. We can move Cantu to first and have Helms at third. We can also bring up Maybin. Maybe, bring up Volstad and not trade Jacobs. On another note, we need to take 2 of 3 from the A's. Need to finish the road trip strong.
mother****er, it seems like we are always the ones getting the short end of tghe stick in these extra inning games. another chance to gain on philly wasted
I think it would be kind of foolish counting on 2 pitchers that pitched a total of 10 games and 45 innings last year and coming back from major arm surgery. I'm not saying one or either won't be good but I just think it's unrealistic to count on them helping the team at all this year.
Who cares if I'm a Sox fan, we're on a message board. Should I not post in other teams boards just because I'm not a fan of a team? I post in every baseball team thread and no one seems to mind.
They are trying their best, but Norman Brahman is screwing it up with his silly lawsuit. If you want to blame someone, go no farther than Wayne himself.
The Amazing One did it again ! I love Alfredo, and will be sad the day he is no longer a Marlin. By the way, everyone should try to catch "Inside the Marlins" on Sun/FSNFL this month of July, they are devoting the show to Jeff Conine and his attempt to do the Ironman Triathalon in Hawai'i. That should be quite a show.
yeah i am afraid he is here until Johnson and Mitre are both back. I think as soon as Johnson can start he goes to the pen, but Tucker is another one that could go there to. Beinfest/Hill have tough decisions to make going forward this year. They have to asking that very hard question, "Do we have a team we think can make it to the post-season or not ?" and go with their gut feeling as to what moves they make by July 31st.
