Yeah, really. Knock off the jinxing. Fredi Gonzalez is superstitious of talking about team strengths in detail, because they immediately turn to weaknesses.

Bullpen chokes, Philthies win 7-5. We need to sweep the Braves just to come out with a winning record on this road trip. Uuuuuuuugh.
We all knew this road trip would be very telling. Right now, it's telling that we have a LOT of work left to do if we want to compete. Starting with defense.
We've needed to work on defense since the middle of last year. At this point I'd settle for our bats coming alive. 2-2 going into the bottom of the 4th against the Chickens.
Oh, COME ON. Gregg blows a 5-4 save, Braves tie it in the 9th, win it in the 10th. Last year we could beat anyone on the road and we sucked at home. What the heck is this?
Kid we drafted today looks like a good pick up....they are comparing him to Joe Mauer!!! http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/events/draft...ck_number&so=ascending&st=number&ft=TM&fv=fla
I'm starting to think Larry Beinfest has something against defense. Or maybe he thinks defense is a pitcher's job.
Don't be too happy, it'll be years before he gets on the field for us. With luck he'll be the opening day catcher when we move into Marlins Stadium. (Is that the final name, by the way? Certainly better than slapping some corporate name on the building...)
i read a few days ago they were searching for a sponser with a name that will fit and last for a long time Heres where i read it http://florida.marlins.mlb.com/news...t_id=2821850&vkey=news_fla&fext=.jsp&c_id=fla
Ugh, the last thing our stadium needs is a corporate name. What happened to the good stadium names? Soldier Field, Candlestick Park, those kinds of names. Knowing Loria, the Miami Marlins will play in Sunkist Field. At least we beat the Braves last night.
The real trouble with this team is that when one person is slumping, everyone else lets it affect them. I blame Fredi for that. It's his job to keep everyone focused.
Fredi needs to learn what Saban did in 2006; there's a difference between keeping a guy in to boost his confidence and doing what's best for the team.
agreed, when ricky has it....hes dynamite, when hes off, you know it....we cant keep scoring 4-5 runs and losing, our pitching is a disaster right now.....and jesus christ 5 blown saves on this 10 game road trip, thats scary.....we win those, and we have a 2 or 3 game lead in the division
We're going to have to re-earn that division lead, and do it under fire from the Mets and Braves, plus the media. Hanley needs to wake up, too. As soon as the ink dried on that contract he went cold. He's probably pressuring himself now that he literally is the franchise.
Just one observation from last night fellas: Fredi Gonzalez was a coach with the Braves for a few years and knows Chipper very well, so why in the HELL would you pitch to that guy and allow him to get 4 hits???! With 2 outs and nobody on and you're letting NOlasco pitch to him? Make Teixiera beat you, not the games leading hitter. That is all.
they pitched to him because there was 2 outs and nobody on.......a solo homerun doesnt kill us at that point in the game.... but like i said earlier he shouldve been out way before that
In a one run game late any solo homer could possibly kill you, especially on the road. Thats bad baseball reasoning. The MAIN reason they left Nolasco in was because of the bullpen. They're flat out tired. Fredi tried to stretch Nolasco because of how thin they are right now. I told some co-workers here (Marlins fans) that if the starters didnt start going deeper you were gonna see the pen tire in June and July.
