True. But Wright had four or less catches in 10 games last year so that does not look particularly likely to me though certainly possible.
Well, it IS Detroit's defense. I think I'm going with Roddy, simply because I think both teams' run defenses can surprise, and Atlanta may have to go to the air more often than they want to.
He actually did pretty awful the first games in his last two seasons. I was still hoping for better, obviously.
So heres the lineup that I'm rolling with for this weekend: Palmer Addai, McFadden (I know Williams has been looking good but I like DMFs situation a lot more) Fitz, Burleson, Walter (Dont trust DJack yet and I just think Walter will have more chances while everyone chases around Johnson) Cooley (Booooooooo) Gramatica Indy
Denver has one of the worst run defenses in the league. I'm sure theyll be running the ball the all day on them. I would think that DMF would see plenty of action. Its not like Fargas is an exclusive back in Oak.
He may not be exclusive, but doesn't mean he didn't do everything when he was given the opportunity last year.
I need to start one of these guys as my 3rd WR, who should I go with? Desean Jackson - highest projected points on Yahoo Sidney Rice Vincent Jackson Donte Stallworth
I had Stallworth, switched to Jackson the other day and just wanted to make sure it's the right choice. I assume he's starting, or will at the least see plenty of time, and is returning punts?
the lastest i read was he was starting with Curtis out and Brown nursing the hammy. So he should be Option #2 behind Westbrook (at worst #3 Westbrook/LJ Smith) in a pass happy Offense. Havent heard anything different about PRs so i assume he's still be doing that.
Whatd you expect? They had a lack of options last year. I would think theyd let McFadden get quite a few carries against a horirble Run D to boost his confidence.
McFadden has packages for him at several positions including QB, RB and the slot. He could get time at PR. I expect to see McFadden get at least ten to twelve touches rushing-wise against the Broncos. They are still trying to get Russell to manage the game. I watched him in the pre-season and that's what it looks like they're doing. He does a lot of checking down so he doesn't lose the game(s) for them. He had a really low yards per pass rate, it was around 4 if I remember right. Also wanted to pass along to owners of RB Steve Slaton, he will be getting 15 touches this week according to Kubiak.
What a joke. They drafted Russell #1 overall and paid him millions in guaranteed money for the prospect of having a QB with a railgun arm to throw deep... and they encourage him to check down? They should have kept McCown. I'm so very tempted to start Fargas over Jonathan Stewart this weekend.
Yeah, the problem with Russell is that he's just not ready. Period. He makes throws that he shouldn't such as double/triple coverage and across the field. What he will often do is go to his security blanket which is Zach Miller. Miller will have a good amount of catches this year with Russell starting. Russell is basically still a rookie so I understand why they're getting him to checkdown/manage games. The problem is that they made all these off-season WR acquisitions to go deep. Lelie, Carter, Walker are all downfield threats but they can't utilize them now. What I'm trying to figure out is if Davis or Kiffin was behind these moves. Davis is my guess because Kiffin knows what he is doing or what he wants to do, where Davis has no clue.
need some help guys. a guy in my league at work is offering this trade. i send him: Braylon Edwards Brandon Marshall I get: Joseph Addai Plaxico Buress heres my team QB-Romo RB-Steven Jackson RB-Michael Turner WR-Braylon WR-Fitz TE-Gates WR/TE-Dwayne Bowe D-Jax K-Josh Brown BN-Chris Cooley,Ryan Grant,Brandon Marshall,Ricky,Kurt Warner,Ginn,Chester Taylor,Selvin Young i like addai but dont know if its worth being thin at WR
I wouldnt do it man. Your team looks stacked as is. That WR group is disgusting. So is TE if Cooley gets his **** together.
Decline the trade. Turner will be a very good RB for you this year, no need to sacrifice your receivers to upgrade his spot.
I love gimmick plays but not when you are trying to establish your QB. Get the basics down then worry about tricking people.
For Julius Jones owners, he will get some carries in this weekends game. Look for him to be the starter next weekend though, this according to Holmgren.
Here's a non-player question just to throw out there: So somebody accepted my trade offer which is pretty ludicrous (Jon Kitna, Chris Cooley, Willis McGahee for Antonio Gates, Brian Westbrook, Carson Palmer) and now he says he pressed the accept button by mistake. Naturally, I said I voted against the trade but it still went through. Now the guy's *****ing about how I cheated (adding a GO VOLS GO TITANS chant at the end). So do I send the players back or keep em?
Keep 'em. Its his fault for making a mistake. Btw, your boy Chauncey Washington is looking good in JAX. He's the third back on the depth chart but they like him.
Yea, and I find it hard to understand why I'm cheating when he's the one that accepted. I always knew Chauncey'd be good. It's a shame UCLA's program wasn't good or he'd go there right out of high school. When Taylor kicks the bucket, Chauncey will mesh well with MJD. Ironic, I suppose.
Didn't Chauncey run a 4.4? I think he's a hell of a athlete and he was one of the few guys I liked at USC (who somehow have so many first round picks but few produce). I wonder if Taylor is in hot water with JAX. He got arrested last week for marijuana I believe it was. Didn't he complain about his contract last year as well?
That guy ran much faster in high school before all those injuries. And he was a lot more elusive. Right now people are pegging him as a powerback but really he could be much more balanced than that. Taylor has complained but I don't think he's in that big of a trouble, yet. He's still the face of the franchise but he's getting ther in age.
Larry Maroney or Thomas Jones? My gut is telling my Thomas Jones, but I refuse to profit at the expense of my team. I think Laurence could do well running against the Chiefs.
Maroney maybe. I'd like to think our run D has improved over last year and the Chiefs haven't. Then you factor in Brady might be iffy and Pats go with balance. I've actually grown accustomed to profiting at the expense of my favorite team all last year. Is it any coincidence my fantasy teams that have WR's and/or RB's and/or QB's that play Miami usually have a 30 point lead that week?
Last year I had no problem with it. I figured if my team was going to suck, then I might as well benefit from the knowledge of our atrocious run defense and other areas of suckitude. But this year is going to be different. I hope to be benching studs that are playing against Miami because that swarming D is going to be relentless! Ok, I might be overly optimistic, but until I'm proven otherwise, players going against the Dolphins get benched if I have other serviceable options.
Yeah, but I mean, it makes no sense to make Morris the #1 guy this week and Jones the #1 guy next week.
