And a horrible offensive one. Zero points against the Charger's 23rd ranked defense? lol. Belichick got SOOOOOOO lucky with Brady. The more he coaches without one of the best QB of all time the more it becomes clear he's just an average HC without a great QB. Loving every game. He's closing in on the most losses of all time. I think if NE ends up with 14 losses this year Belichick becomes the losingest coach ever (postseason included), because Landry lost 178 games and I think Belichick is now at 175 (have to double check this, but I think that's right).

Oh my gosh, what a stat....the losing-est coach of all time. Losing-ist? We have to find a word for that, LOL.

So he's closer to having the most losses ever than the most wins ever- that's insane! I really hope he takes the record and retires after this season since their dynasty is obviously over.

Only one QB in history owns Belichick.

He won't retire. Guy has too much ego for that. There are already rumors of him going to other teams. Thing is, some of those teams — like Carolina — won't offer him much chance to win either. One rumor has him going to the Chargers. That would actually be interesting. With a good defense that team is not bad. Problem is KC is better. More Schadenfreude lol.

Carolina is my current home team and I'm debating whether or not to buy my son-in-law tickets for Christmas. They're $11 each for the upper deck and there's thousands of seats available...that's how bad it is right now. I thought about getting better seats but there's no point since much of the lower decks have been empty at kickoff as well; they can just move down on their own.

My son-in-law comes over at least once a month to watch the Panthers here and luckily I have my daughter to talk to during the game. They are about on the level as our tank-team a few years back, only they don't have anything to tank for since they don't have their own 1st rounder. The local media is brutally honest as well- who the heck would want to coach here? Nobody young. Nobody currently in the NFL either because they have too much to lose.

Carolina is going to be bad for awhile unless their young QB develops into a superstar (without anything around him to assist). It's all doom and gloom.

Let’s not forget they have an owner for whom the top candidates are not going to be eager to work for.

He won't go anywhere if he doesn't have control of personnel. Fortunately, he's shown that he's no longer the evaluator or developer of talent that he used to be. If I was interviewing for a new coach, I would ask myself why he'd be better in my organization than he is in his current one.

That's why theoretically the Chargers actually makes sense. There's no question Belichick is a very good defensive mind, which they need, and they don't need to worry about getting a good QB, so it's not a negative to let Belichick be both GM and HC. Thing is, Chargers owner Spanos isn't going to shell out tons of money for Belichick. He wasn't willing to pay Sean Payton either. So even though the Chargers would be a great fit, it's very likely not happening. Also, Belichick being up there in age will definitely weigh on the calculations (i.e., no long term solution).

But what if no one gives him the control like he has in NE? I mean if I'm a team owner, I'd think real hard before handing ALL the keys to Belicheat, he's shown he's a great HC, but GM he's not. Look at his drafting history. It's bad.

Then we can rejoice and laugh at Belichick not matching Shula's win record despite his massive ego.
