The Dave Wannstedt Wkipedia Entry

Thought I'd post this since it gave me a good chuckle, and before someone realizes it and edits it out:
Buffalo Bills
On January 21, 2011, it was announced that Wannstedt was joining the Bills staff as Assistant Head Coach/Linebackers Coach under Chan Gailey, who served as Wannstedt's offensive coordinator in Miami in 2000 and 2001.[5] He was promoted to defensive coordinator on January 2, 2012. Wannstedt hopes to put himself on the map this year by using his "Vanilla prevent" defense to make history by being the first NFL team ever to allow an average 50+ points a game.

Heh.
Headcoach material wouldn’t want to work somewhere they’re not trusted with actual football decisions.

Funny.
What took you to Dave's wiki page?
For some reason (senility perhaps) I had missed the news that Dave was promoted to Defensive Coordinator, so I decided to see when it happened so that I could perhaps figure out why I missed it. Still have no idea.

Fate.
I'm a frequent poster on BuffaloRange.com, and I tied to warn them about how bad Wanny is... and how he is vanilla as it comes, never blitzes, and is incapable of making adjustments.
I got ripped for it at the time, and had his defensive rankings during his career thrown in my face.
Needless to say, they've since started a thread apologizing to me, lol.

Well, that didn't take long. You'd think Mrs. Wannstadt would have something better to do, though.

Considering the demolition job he did to the Bears, then us and then Pitt let's hope the trend continues. My heart would truly break if he assisted in leaving the Bills in shambles.

Close friends with Chan Gailey.
Before things tightened up after the crash, there used to be banks that continued to lend money to the same developers over and over, despite losing a ton of money repeatedly after their projects went bust.
This is the same as football organizations continuing to hire Wannstedt. There ought to be an FDIC of football.
Lol.

It wouldn't surprise me if he is retained. Jeff Ireland is the nightmare that won't end. The **** stain you cannot flush. The Herpes for which there is no cure.
I think we should officially give Wannstedt the nickname "Train Wreck" cause that seems to be the fate of every team he's been around since he left Jimmy Johnson's staff in Dallas and took over the Bears franchise. The Bears finally recovered from his influence and its taken forever to recover from it in Miami.
