Obviously, Andy Reid is an outlier seeing as he's been a coach in the league since the early 90's. But still, a very player friendly coach.

You can maybe argue Sean Payton, but he was punked on the sidelines by a rookie quarterback this weekend.

Payton is a bit of a question mark. Denver is going to find out whether or not his success in New Orleans was his doing or if he was like Belichick and his success was due to Brees.

Wasn't Flores ****canned for being a more disciplinarian coach? The Vikings seem to be doing pretty damn good underneath his coaching.

Well said. I would also say Mike Tomlin and Jim Harbaugh are two coaches no player wants to get on the bad side of.

Tomlin agreed. Harbaugh though? I think you meant his brother John in Baltimore

Antonio Pierce is coming across as a hardass in his first stint as a head coach. It’s not working out too well for him.

    It’s also the Raiders.

they ran like 40 plus times last week. You think that is just because Pats are terrible or a new trend?

What I don't understand is why he didn't start that plan for the Titans game.

Or the more obvious…Tyler Huntley is no Tua Tagovailoa.

Listen, for those who have followed my postings over the years have all heard me say the same thing over and over and over again. You have to RUN THE BALL! I’ve been critical of McDaniel not committing to or abandoning the ran. Regardless of who is under center, this has been a serious mistake on his part. With Tua being out, and seeing the dismal performance of Thompson and Huntley in his first start, McDaniel had no choice, he had to adjust fire and to everyone’s surprise, the Dolphins ran the ball pretty well.

If McDaniel can continue being committed to the run, even after Tua’s return, we’ll have a balanced offense that’s going to keep defenses on their toes and place so much burden on one or two players to carry the offense.

Been saying that since my very first day here. I agree. If you cannot run the ball enough to force the safeties to come up, then even with the best talent at your TE, WR, and QB positions your passing attack is going to be severely limited.

Rodgers played pretty well last night. People talk a lot of crap about him...

He still has some gas left in the tank

Arm is still good but he doesn't have the mobility. Pretty much a middling starter at this point which isn't what they were looking for.

He just went toe to toe with Allen and matched him throw for throw.... That is more than "Middling"

That is debatable but what isn't was he was coming off two really bad games. He isn't having a particularly good year.

They just acquired Davante Adams.. that is quite the duo theyll have between him and Wilson.. and then you hve lazard as well..

We will see how this all works out for them. I dont think this trade moves the needle to contender.. but davante is still a top receiver..

Kind of reminds me of when Moss was stuck on the raiders catching passes from guys like kerry collins..

davante is on the tail end of his career but i think think he can have a productive 2 seasons before we realy see a steep decline

We can debate all you like...

Fact of the matter is the Bills put heat on Rodgers most of the night... So he was making throws without just sitting back in the pocket. The Bills have a good secondary also... .So he was making great reads.

Rodgers is on the wrong side of 40! It is a pretty pedestrian argument to say he has lost a step.... What QB his age hasn't?

Yes QBs over 40 should look like they are on a serious decline and he does. That is the whole point.

The arm is still good so that is encouraging for them but are we supposed to pretend he is playing like a top 10 QB right now just because he used to?

He also takes no accountability. Which is why he threw Mike Williams under the bus for his bad throw and pushed them to get Adams in the building.

    LOL,

    Serious decline?

    C'mon Maaaaaaaaan

He is still slinging it 60 yards... He is getting the ball out quick... He still has elite velocity.... and he is still making great reeads under pressure.

How is that serious decline? Did you even watch the game last night?

Did you watch him play against Denver and Minnesota? Have you seen how teams are able to blitz him when they absolutely could not in GB?

Davante Adams and Aaron Rodgers will be reunited. According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Media, the Raiders have agreed to trade Adams to the Jets on Tuesday.

Las Vegas will receive a conditional third-round pick that can become a second-round pick based on Adams’ individual performance. Adams, 31, spent eight seasons with the Packers playing with Rodgers. He led the league with 18 touchdowns in 2020, as Green Bay went 13-3 and Rodgers won MVP.

A three-time, first-team All-Pro, Adams has recorded 890 career catches for 10,990 yards with 96 touchdowns. Dealing with a hamstring injury, Adams has appeared in just three games so far this season. He’s caught 18 passes for 209 yards with a touchdown.

Now, the saga between Adams and the Raiders has come to an end, with the receiver heading to the East Coast to reunite with his old quarterback.

Of course teams can blitz him more now.... He is on the wrong side of 40.

That does not mean he is in "Serious Decline."

He has lost a step of mobility... but he can still get the ball out in record time... He is making reads fast.. He still has the cannon arm with velocity and accuracy. He was making throws so hard last night that the receivers were having trouble completing their route and tracking the ball to catch it.

Rodgers is still elite. His numbers haven't been eyepopping (most QB's this year aren't), but that's more on the team than him. ANd it just further proves that this is a team, and not just a QB, game. Anyone else back there last night and the Yets most likely don't score even 1 TD. Penalties and the FG kicker cost them the game last night. Rodgers made some incredible throws and reads last night.

He's definitely not prime Rodgers, but he's still elite. Put him on the Bills and he plays better than Allen has this season. Allen is averaging less than 200 yards passing/game. He has not been making his typical amount of INT's, and is still the Allen than can make plays with his feet, but the TEAM isn't relying on him to win games like in the past. This makes them even scarier, IMO. When they relied so heavily on Allen, he made boneheaded mistakes.

    False...

The Jets are just now trading for Adams...

Comparing the Jets and the Dolphins

In terms of the offence with regards to Tua and Rodgers...

We have had much better receivers.
The running back situation in terms of talent is close... I would say ours are slightly better.

Point is there is more talent around the QB here...

That equation arguably changes now that they are adding Adams.

The Jets O line is better than ours...

So there is an argument to be made that With Rodgers playing well Their season is salvageable

Even with Tua back and playing well I would argue that as far as seasons go...Our is already over.

Salas's record while he was coach was 22 and 36 and they were 4th place in the division each year. Couldn't be that at all.

I would argue that Flores was fired because he was not told the truth when he was hired.

He came here trying to win when the plan was going to be to tank for the #1 pick. He took the team that was supposed to go winless and starting winning games and it screwed up their plan.

Then he was not allowed to get the QB he wanted in the coming draft. So once Tua was drafted he played Fitz...

So it came to pass that the QB that the owner and the GM wanted to be the franchise of the future did not have a good relationship with the HC .... And the HC did not believe in the QB.

So Flores was canned to bring in a QB friendly coach.

Flores was the wrong coach to hire to tank...once they got Tua it was time to transition into a coach for the young QB and Flores got canned.
