Today is Veteran's Day. Try to take the time to thank a Vet today. I'm thanking my grandfather who fought in WWII. If you're looking for something to read, pick up a copy of "A Helmet for my Pillow". It is one of the most honest recounts of life during the war in the Pacific Theater. It was also the inspiration for "The Pacific" miniseries on HBO earlier this year.
It absolutely was. The book I mentioned was written by "Lachey (sp)", the main character. Its incredible. EDIT: Leckie. Robert Leckie.
ironically, my non-veteran best friend who works at a bank has the day off. I work in financials and have work today
you alright dude? sounds to me like you have a cold coming on, I could hear you coughing from all the way over here...
Like 10 people thanked me today.. I dunno why. All I did was work a desk and look at porn for 5 years.
My grandpa served in the pacific. My other grandpa served 3 tours in vietnam. My great uncle also served in vietnam. My other great uncles all served in korea.
so your dad dropped the ball, is that what you're saying? kidding, obviously.... thanks for your family's service
he tried but couldn't because he has asthma. my other uncle served. and my other uncle couldn't because of his drunkedness lol
your family has had more servicemembers than most families I know Is that why you're in El Paso, btw? I have a lot of family there now, and it has to do with Ft. Bliss and White Sands. We're a military family though. Only male in my family that didn't serve was one of the uncles. Everyone else did some time
Well my grandpa was stationed here then retired here. So thats why his family is here. The rest are in oklahoma, louisianna and washington state. My other grandpa just came back after the war. I think my family has so many service members as we are a somewhat violent peoples haha.
