http://nfltraderumors.co/texans-benching-t-j-yates/ Interesting, imho they probably should bench him and let Garcia take them as far as they can go in the playoffs, as after a great start Yates has tailed off.
Sadly, I think it's Yates or bust for them at this point. He's undoubtedly playing like a rookie, but is that really worse than Garcia will give you?
I'd say yes, simply because Yates is actually costing the team games via mistakes, and between Delhomme and Garcia, it would be fair to say Garcia would be the most likely to cut down on them.
I just have less faith in guys with diminished physical skills, who haven't played football at all in about 1-2 years, and who have only got a grasp of the playbook and their teammates for about 2 weeks. Garcia and/or Delhomme are a "break in case of emergency" alternative, and if Yates can stand up and throw the ball, I don't think it's an emergency yet.
Well, we will simply have to disagree on that, as Garcia is enough of a pro that he will have picked up the offense by now. When he last played he did fine with the Bucs, he won't turn the ball over, and he can operate in that offense imo.
I think you will see one of them get some time this week along with yates. I would give Delhomme time, not Garcia. Garcia is a gunslinger, they don't need that with Foster and Tate in the backfield.
