The Dallas Morning News reports that Terence Newman has agreed to a six-year, $50.2 million extension with the Cowboys. $22.5 million of the contract is guaranteed over the first three years of the deal. The 29-year-old, who made his first Pro Bowl last season, was due to become an unrestricted free agent in 2009. The two sides narrowly beat a deadline put into effect by the owners opting out of the CBA that would have imposed stricter salary cap limitations on the contract.
