I never said Ginn had a great game. I never even said he had a good game.

However, I don't think people should think Hartline had that special of a game. He caught a touchdown pass in a power formation when the defense was expecting the run... and he did so in MOTION so he had a running start. It's not like he showed anything spectacular there.

I'm not saying anyone had more of an impact than anyone... And I never said Ginn would make the catch, I said anyone could have made that play. The coaching staff put Hartline in the easiest position to make a play, he didn't do anything special. It was an excellent playcall. That's that.

Ah, and there is the crux of the disagreement, that was Ginn's "best" Stats game, and thusly your reason for saying that, my thought is Ginn's game is not really a Stats game, Ginn is a poor fantasy football pick but is a great football player when he is allowed to be that is to say.

I will grant that unless Ginn is put on returns he will not be productive enough to really justify his position, however if he is placed on returns he will get those 2k yds.

I think Ginn is more of a Reggie Bush than a Reggie Wayne. Finding plays like the kickoffs and the end-arounds are where you will find his value.

Much like how we have been griping about the misuse of Ronnoe - I think Teddy has been vastly under-utilized. Not that he needs to get a ton of touches - but a quick slant, an end-around and other creative plays sprinkled in throughout the game would have to get the defense's attention.

It does look like Ginn is going to be used in that role now.

The day Dan Marino runs an end around, call me.

I'm sure Dan offered his opinion, but I'm also sure Dan probably spent about 1.4 seconds watching it, reviewing it, rewinding that one play.

You know what's funny, I'm watching it on Hi Def. I also went to the NFL site where the replay is in standard def. On the SD replay, it seems as if he should have cut outside. You can't see the defenders. On the HD feed, it's obvious the defender was primed for him to bring it outside.

Photobucket is resizing my photos way too small, but here is a photo from my iphone

Ginn on the left, that defender on the side of Bess. And he is prepared for Ginn to break it outside. And the guy that Bess is on, is definitely not locked in. He sheds Bess easily a few frames later. So you got two guys one that one side with how much room? Not much.

He gets maybe a few yards more on the outside, but not enough to deride him so much you made take a photo with my iphone and upload it to the web to argue over the internet.

Questioning Dan Marino's football knowledge is just ridiculous for one. Two who cares if the guy is prepared for Ginn to cut to the outside, freaking break a tackle instead of shying away or running from it! He's scared to take a hit, he's shown that multpile times by falling to the ground instead of going into contact. He's supposed to be one of the fastest men in the NFL he cant outrun a would be tackler to the outside? C"mon Man....

Just because you excell on the field doesn't mean you know the game. Marino had been criticized as an analyst before, probably will be again.

I don't understand how you say Ginn is scared to take a hit when he ran towards the middle to try to get through a lane and possibly score a TD. If he was really scared to take a hit he would have ran outside and straight out of bounds.

Just because he isn't going all Adrian Peterson on defenders doesn't mean he's afraid to take a hit... I think you guys expect him to take hits like Mike Alstott or something...

He ran away from a route due to a possible tackler and went to a crowd where his blockers were...really? And I'm basing that off of all the games this year. Go back and watch some of his catches in the Colts game, see how many times he goes out of bounds or falls to the ground..its pathetic.

No one expects him to butt heads.....however, I've been watching football for four decades now and never in my life have I seen a player, as soft as Ted Ginn Jr............ever.

I've watched every single game of his since being drafted. And I find the "playing scared" myth to be extremely exaggerated.

You don't need to tell me to watch film, I seen what I seen. Clearly we don't see the same things.

I'm not questioning his football knowledge. I'm questioning the time Dan the Man who has a million games to cover and a million bucks to make is spending on a single inconsequential play.

Two, that's not the point of this debate. Ginn isn't going to break anyone's ankles, nor is he going to break anyone's back.

Three, your last part is just plain ridiculous and reaching. He's scared to take a hit yet he breaks it inside where there are a million other defenders. That makes perfect sense. Carl Lewis isn't running by a fast DB who has an angle on him. If so, track stars would be NFL players. The DB isn't running with him, he's standing in the way.

Marvin Harrison was pretty soft. Now, Ginn is no Harrison. Not even close. But Marvin was a huge flopper. Of course it didn't matter because he straight ran th e most perfect routes.

Ginn and Henne adn the Phins need to review his tapes. Ginn especially. He doesn't have Marvin's feet/footwork. but maybe he could learn a move here or there. Is it Ginn's fault our whole WR corp is underachieving? Maybe we need to look top down instead of bottom up. Watching highlights of Marvin, he makes it so easy.
