"A lot of it is (or was) predetermined.

NO! Say it ain't so, you mean they were protecting him for most of the season?

How can this be, stats! QBR! BAD WR!

IMO, if folks could not see they were doing exactly this for most of the year I don't know what to tell you save for maybe watch more football and see with a more discerning eye.

Not that I disagreed with their approach mind you, I do however think they underestimated what THill is capable of doing, they were being to protective of him and probably limited our Wr's Td numbers imo.

Why risk ruining his EZ confidence as a rook when you have Bush?

yeah ok, they were "protecting" us from scoring TDs.

Philbin & Sherman sure as heck didn't limit Tanny's 10 passing TDs to non receivers.

So uhm the league votes Hartline into the pro bowl, the staff admits they've protected Tannehill via handcuffing his ability to adjust routes etc, and of course, well it is what it is.

It seemed to me like Tannehill had more freedom to alter things earlier in the year. Maybe it's just my recollection but it seemed like there was very heavy at the line adjustments in the Cardinals game that hasn't been matched since

Edit- I have no idea what the **** is going on in this thread

Eh, some folks are not happy Hartline made the pro bowl as an alternate ruining literal months of complaining.

As for your analysis, pretty much, iirc THill set some records early on for passing Yds then the throttled back especially after he injured his knee vs the Jets.

Just observationally it looks like THill and Bush both got healthy around the same time both are showing much more mobility

If that's how you want to word it in some pseudo Hartline-preserving way.
I didn't see the quote by Philbin saying Tannehill handcuffed the playbook or play calling potential. Can you find that one for me?

Ah hell. It's an easy out for a guy who didn't understand how athletic this QB just might be.
Or how good he could be with a development process that has patience. Understandably.

Hartline made the pro bowl, you only have your (failed) argument.

"..we’ve given him a little more freedom and he's done a few more things with protection adjustments and route changes at the line of scrimmage based on a particular look that we may have prepared for. He’s not necessarily doing it on his own, a lot of it is pre-determined.."

Gosh, what could that mean? Have Dolphins fans heard this before, and if so, from whom and pertaining to what?

David Garrard made the pro bowl 2 years ago. He still sucks. The pro bowl doesn't mean a god damn thing anymore.

Not at all, Gerrard lost his fire to play.

And comparing him to Hartline? Why? On what basis?

So I assume we'll be seeing him in Hawaii then?
Will you kindly point out Hartline's name on the below roster? Thanks in advance.

Mediocre players like Hartline and Garrard sneak into the pro bowl sometimes.

Hartline hasn't made the Pro Bowl. He's an alternate.

I doubt he even plays in the Pro Bowl because if someone drops, Demaryius Thomas will fill that spot before Hartline (and rightfully so).

Not the strongest argument Padre. Basing it on Hartline going to pro bowl as an alternate. He clearly is there because of his one magnificent game vs Arizona where he got 25% of his yards, not the other 15 games where he got the Rest of his yards.

Not trying to dis Hartline, hope we keep him around. But no one is going to pick Hartline as their WR ahead of the other 15 WRs that ahead of him in yards. Hartline is top 20, no more

I like Hartline, but he is just a good player. He should be resigned but at decent number 2 money.
