Enchanted Arms (ill), Blue Dragon, Eternal Sonata, Lost Odyssey, and now this. The 360's jRPG lineup gets two hits (sure to be cult classics) in Tales of Vesperia (and Infinite Undiscovery next week). I just got my hands on Tales just now. Will be playing it soon. From the look of the vids, it has some of the smoothest cell shading ever. Anyone else plan to play it? Gametrailers.com - Tales of Vesperia - E3 2008: Dennis Lee Interview
Depends... I was going to read up on these games soon... If the combat is random and frequent enough ala old school games (& Lost Odyssey) then I am interested.
The Tales series ceased being good after they released Destiny. Everything after was downhill from there. I wish Namco had brought out the PSP/PS2 remakes of Phantasia and Destiny here.
I am still not done with LO yet. I am towards the end of disc 3. Unfortunately, my schedule has been insane lately, and I have zero time to play.
I'm almost at 3 hours in. It's very pretty. The cell shading is awesome. The cell shading animation looks better that the actually animated cut scenes imo. The story is very cheesy old school RPG, but I like it. Combat is your typical Tales hald 2D half 3D hybrid action fighting. I've never been a huge fan, but until yo get additional party members, it's [retty ****ing hard. So far, me digs it alot.
Its good to know. I love the combat system. Sometimes the AI pisses me off but thats a Tales game for ya.
I picked this up this past week, and my fiance and I started to play it. It's my first "Tales" game. It's pretty good, but like Mor said, if there is only one party member it can be hard.
