So, tonight I'm house-sitting a big mansion in movie-star area, and at 1am I hear screaming and then low, rough talking in the livingroom. I lock the guestroom door and call 911 to come check it out, since the rich owner guy is always very paranoid about robbers, so I figure maybe there's someone in the house, of course. I lovk my gf and me into the bathroom of the guest room and wait until 8 of LA's finest copsarrive, only to find out the goddamned TV system in this dudes living room had turned itself on at 1am and starting playing some crime movie. Cops were nice about it. Now I'm sitting wide awake in a rich man's house, feeling like I'm perched atop a golden egg that people want to steal. So, barry ain;t getting any sleep til his nerves calm down from the whole cops coming in with guns thing. Thought I'd read and respond to Starry's rankings, at last.... What sort of head coach can't spell hiss starting quarterback's name. Maybe I should downgrade the Jags. Seriously, I only wonder how the jags will deal with all the media attention they've been getting since hitting #1 in the rankings. A lot of teams will be gunning for them now. This team outperforms its own talent level by so much, I can safely say that thus far this head coach would win my Coach of the Year award. Disagree about them facing good competition. They played me twice and I've been horrid this year. Agreed. I dunno. I'm starting to think Sick has lost his touch. (grinz. that was aimed at motivating you to destroy all who come before you, Chris. ) Well, last year all that tripped up the Giants was that when Jacobs went down, they had no one of the same talent level to step in. PRoblem solved with the addition of Stewart. Nothing stops the Giants this year... unless its the Lions ???? or Browns???? or Jags??? Wow. That all sounded weird. Did someone put LSD in the water? I've been really impressed by the job the only female head coach in the league has done. She really has had her team game ready. You go girl. DEspite the record, only the division games are really important. Let's wait and see how those pan out.. Also, the worse the Falcons do, the better the draft pick I get from them! Tenn collects QBs. Expect them to take at least three more in the upcoming draft. Now they just need to find an offensive co-ordinator who can find a way to get all eight QBs onto the field at the same time. Well, in doing the rankings, I didn;t think it was right to include week eight games, since some HAD been played and some HADN'T... that is sorta unfair, if some people haven;t had a chance to win their game yet and coulda moved up in the rankings, but another guy HAS won his game so gets credit. My rankings were pre-Steelers victory. You'll note, however, thtat I had predicted the Ravens win. Again, my rankings were not including week eight, so we have a slightly different perspective as a result. I don;t disagree with you though. BIG surprise is the Cards running game. Must run a lot of draws? I've heard Pettigrew has been grumbling about the city, the cold, the coaching staff, the facilities, the lockerrooms, even the cafeteria food. He was just happier in Detroit. How is that possible?? NO ONE is EVER happier in Detroit. What's going on up in Wisconsin?? Stay tuned. I do think the Chargers have great skillz. You're right that their upset victory over Jax will move them up in the rankings. Good call. The Chiefs are a yearly tease, though, like the chick with big boobs in high school who'd only let you see them, not let you touch them. Every year KC looks promising, then leaves their fans blue-balled and cold in December. Is this the year the Chiefs put out? Dunno, but you're right, the Jax/Browns/Broncos triad are great opponents. Personally, I put the Broncos ahead of the Chiefs in the rankings. DOn;t see how the Chiefs are ahead of them. Consider, again, that I didn;t include the Broncos week 8 game. They have definitely found a rhythm. Best way to beat Seattle is to disrupt it. Urlacher is the story here. He gives this team a chance to be a championship caliber defense. I think they're ranked around the right area. Ravens are better than y'all think. That's a borderline top ten team, right there, in short order. Just you wait. I feel bad that Chrisko had to take the Rams. I think he has still managed more wins than me, though. Denver beats the Chiefs. Bank on it. Fin just needs to get used to this version of madden. Where dudes like Alex have mad stick skillz that make a below average Lions roster look great, Fin's learning curve with the madden 10 nuances haven;t let him fully use his roster's talent. By the end of the season, Fin-omenal will be kicking people's arses. If you play the boys late in the season, and see their record, do NOT judge their ability by it! They will play you much otugher than their record indicates. And I don;t just say that because I lost 20-0 to them. (Wait til next time Fin!! My boys need to dish out some payback!) lol. Starry wants ASU to beat the Titans for him! -shakes his head- Can;t you focus on the Texans without bringing your own sordid little agenda into things. I mean, really, how Machiavellian can you get?? Glad ASU let me know about the 80 points being against the CPU. sounds like the D problems are under control. Now it's just outscoring them opponents that needs fixin'. Yeehaw. Wait a sec, all Graythreat got for Urlacher was Lance moore? Seriously? Nice one, Rigo. ANyways, I rejoice to the spirits of the ancestors that Brian Urlacher has left my division. I feat on the shanks of a wild beast and drink mead in celebration. I look forward to our battles, Gray. Mighty clashes of the 3rd and 4th place in the division people. This seems awfully low for a team that has sexy, hot cheerleaders who are still wholesome. Jake Scott. The enigma. Really, I think it's more the way I press the buttons that's hurting me. Like, there;s one way you can press them, that makes you win, and then there's my way, which makes you not win. I have been workingon my button-pushing, not to mention tapping. Pressing of buttons still requires practice, but my clicking is nearly at championship level. I am still very deficient in the category of button-mashing, however. This is why I 99% of fumbles are recovered by my opponent. In the other 1% of cases the ball is never found at all. Oh I could handle Mor if he just didn;t talk so much SMACK. SMack talking. Smack this. Oh the Eagles the best! BLah-di-blah Eagles best awesome - blah- kick my ***. Philly cheese steak, yaw! And so on. It's tiresome, MOr. You and your Philly SMacksteak sandwiches. I can hear you bragging again now about this ranking. It's just too much. You made a mistake here. The Colts are in Baltimore. Everyone knows that. You know, someday there will be a sad headline reading "Former Colt Addai Dies". That'll sound funny when you read it out loud, even though it is still sad. I heard this Madden version is so realistic that the CPU Ginn runs out of bounds and dives to the turf untouched. (yes, it just became that kind of thread. ready to be hijacked.) I wish I could liberate some of the talent imprisoned on these rosters. I really love Oakland. NOt as a team. As a city. So lovely. Speaking of players being trapped on teams that are playing badly, some Minnesota players probably feel the same way. good thing there's no free agency! Eff the effin Jets. I seriously can;t believe Madden hasn;t dialled up some cheating to get the CPU Pats a few more wins. They should win three games this year. Maybe 4. Everyone in town gets a turn to bugger the Skins this year. 0-16 here we come. Totally agree. Which is why they oughta be ranked lower. PLaymakers, eh? buffalo, eh? Large, eh? You say a lot of words. I think what they mostly mean is Buffalo is already looking at next season. Go Bills! Wait, did I say that? Maybe they hire Warren Sapp as the next Head Coach/Diva. I think the Buc problem is that they are the Bucs. They need to quit it. Don;t be so Bucish. You keep losing. Surely you can see this is somehow correlated to being the Bucs.
My team really does outplay our overall ratings it's as we say: It's not about finding the best 53, it's about finding the right 53. Loved the part about Pettigrew being happier in Detroit LOL
We might find out tomorrow. In college basketball getting ranked 1 generally meant that team was going lose soon. Will the Jags get cocky and fold under the pressure? I did misspell my QB's name too, ouch. My friend that is an ECU grad won't appreciate that. Beat it! lol Looking at stats it is kind of funny he's dropped seven, haven't checked all the receivers out but seems high. Which is the purpose of my last sentence. At 3-4 you're not going see top ten in rankings though. There was another player involved on both sides but those were the big names. And yeah, Saints are tickled pink I'm sure. No. Thanks for reading the rankings and your story at the mansion is funny, not sure I would have told anyone about it though.
I actually wanted the Rams as the teams fits more into what I like to do. It's missing a few things obviously that I hope to correct this offseason. And I don't have more wins than you actually, the Rams were 2-2 when I took them over, so I have yet to win a game.
I wish ya luck in your next game, Chrisko! And, Starry... that whole house-sitting thing was born out of 2am delirium and adrenaline.
That was fast. Thanks. Boss, the user for the Colts is you friend, right? Can you contact him for me so I can play him?
^ That's Colts, I'm going see if we can get his email too and then Mor can add it to the contact list.
