I once ate Thai Calamari Red Curry, it was strange, gross, and just not very good. I didn't like it very much, and I've avoided calamari since. Curious to see what the strangest food is that any of you have eaten?
I could also throw in the Bertie Botts Every Flavor Beans by Jelly Belly... Grass, Dirt, Sardine, Vomit, Booger, Ear Wax, Spinach... Never got the Bacon, Pickle, Egg, Sausage, Soap, Earthworm, or Spaghetti Flavors...
We have a wild foods festival here once a year. I've been a few times and eaten a lot of different bugs, rodents, etc. Probably the weirdest was Sheep's eyes and testicles.
The spaghetti flavor is about the grossest thing in the world. I swear I ate that and puked right after. And I dont ever puke (I am morbidly afraid of it) Funnily enough I love Cow intestine and Calamari, which is something that I dont find to weird. (that being my response to the original thread) I would have to go with crickets, bull's balls (which are really good), and pig's blood (which sucks)
Eyes... I've eaten fish eyes at times. They are good. Friend of mine wanted me to eat some korean food or something that had whale sperm on it... i drew the line at that.
if you can befriend your local mortician..he might sell you a human liver at around $25 a pound... You just gotta slice it thin and tenderize it well...sauteed with garlic and onions...yummy.
Yeah, same here. At a resturant called Lilly Langtree's in New Jersey. Their menu had all sorts of "exotic" stuff.
