I have no problem with judging a guy based on his draft record. If its done fairly. But what I see a lot if is people saying Irish erred bc he took player A when player B, who was better, was available. Which is no less stupid than if someone were to say hey Irish picked player A who didn't pan out so well but at least he didn't take player B who was available, but was even worse. John Jerry for example, not a great pick by any means. People love to say he shoulda took Graham or Gronk instead of Misi. Or Ryan instead of Long. You could just as easily say Irish was smart for not taking Glen Dorsey or or one of the other busts who were available on those slots. That's what I kinda have an issue with.
The scary part of what I read into the Ross PC is the unsaid, but implied impression that now we have our QB and our Coach, it seems as if he's going to give Ireland more than just next year to build the team. I think Ireland could be here at least 2 more years. We'll never be rid of him
after 5 drafts we are the 2nd youngest team. That isn't exactly a ringing endorsement of the last 5 drafts....it means a lot of mistakes were made.
Well looking at last years FA, Ireland thinks that way as well. While other teams supplemented and got better (Indy, Washington) we stood pat for the most part and well.....gained one game in our record.
