thats not good news in this particular case Imo as it pertains to Grier scouting Anthony...we all hit and miss but I though Anthony was an easy eval to stay away from.

Joe Vitt was part of the Saints coaching staff that drafted Anthony. He is also Gase's FIL. Gase brought Vitt as a Dolphins consultant during the off-season.

I can't see any situation to where Gase and the FO make this trade if Vitt hasn't told Gase that Anthony can really play - or is an upgrade to on our roster.

I have zero confidence in Sean Peyton and Dennis Allen's defensive planning and evaluation. Greatest condemnation of Anthony to me is that Mike Nolan didn't fight to keep him.

Right now, Anthony is a former 1st rounder with 2 years of experience that we got for a low 5th round pick in an area of need and he's still on his rookie contract - cheap money @ $1M this year and next.

He's likely a SAM at some point for us pending what happens with Timmons this season.

He has the atheticism and ability to be a playmaker. If former LB coach and now DC, Burke, and current LB coach, Bush, are worth their salt, they can simplify things for him and coach him up, he's a steal and could be a very good player for us for years to come.

Hard to believe that he's he so slow at processing that he can't be part of the starting rotation at LB, either at Mike or Sam.

But yeah, he probably starts off on ST.
