• After a disappointing season and 1-7 home record, Dolphins owner Stephen Ross is doing the right thing: He is not raising ticket prices. Look for an announcement this week. More flexible payment plans also will be offered.
Former owner Wayne Huizenga raised prices nearly every year, but this will be the second time that Ross has not raised any prices in his three offseasons as majority owner. Last spring, he raised 56 percent of the seats but lowered 13 percent and kept 31 percent unchanged, leaving the average price in the league's lower half.
The Dolphins sold 51,069 season tickets for 2010, and this offseason will be challenging. Miami sold 61,121 in '06 (its most since 1987) but 46,131 in '08 and 49,415 in '09

Zach Thomas: I played against New England twice a year every year my whole career. I learned to not like that team. I wasn't going to join them.

Well, thank goodness we won't be paying more than we did for 1-7 at SunLife...

...Um, how are prices not lower?

Headcoach material wouldn’t want to work somewhere they’re not trusted with actual football decisions.

Does he really have a choice. It's his only chance to not see a signficant drop in sales.

If he had raised them, just think of the **** storm that would have occured. He should have lowered them, but I guess I can't blame him. I still think the total will fall significantly, to around 41,000 give or take a thousand.

I agree Jake, the circumstances built up to the point where I wouldnt be suprised to see it drop more than it has done in the past 20 years.

They better pray they aquire a player with some electricity or this could be the year we see games that either, don't see anywhere near a sellout, or the stadium will actually be half full of the other teams fans. People won't have to exagerate about that if the team does nothing exciting.

I doubt the Dolphins make NFL Replay on the NFL Network. They only show a replay of 4 games a week, and its only teams in contention usually.

Last year he lowered the rates of some seats and raised the rates of others.

He should continue to lower the rates of upper deck seats. This will make them more affordable to families who want to bring their kids.

He should consider a buy 1 season ticket get 1 free in a few sections of the upper deck.

I'll probably buy season tickets this year. I have a feeling that we will do good things this off season, mostly because we don't have a choice to do otherwise.

Dolphins, Heat, Hurricanes, Red Sox

That's about the smartest move Stephen Ross has made so far this offseason. Too bad folks still won't show up.
