holy crap. that has me excited. still one of my top 2 favorite games of all time. they now have it as app game, been playing on my iPhone this year when I have spare time

I'm very excited about The Mandalorian coming out on Disney+.

Ewan McGregor has signed on to play Obi Wan in a series for Disney+. I think that I'd rather have had a feature film, but I'm excited and intrigued with this still. I wonder how many episodes we'll get. Six to twelve would be my guess.

Series are almost as good as feature films, plus they can do 3 to 6 hour stories better.

I would rather have a series of Obi Wan.

I still want a Quinlan Vos trilogy.

I believe that Disney can do well by it. As you said, there are really good series that are as good as a well done movie. But of course there are cases where its not up to par as well. Fingers crossed, because I've been hoping for this for a while.

Ewan McGregor showed up at D23, and they announced that all of the scripts have been written for the Obi-wan show, and it will be filmed next year. No deeper news, but that would seem to mean it would air in 2021.

It really does. After all these years, we're finally getting a proper Star Wars show, and it looks as good as the movies. Too bad that there are only 8 episodes, but hopefully there could be more seasons.

Speaking of Obi-wan, Phil Szostak, who was involved in the creation of the original movies, has been dropping Star Wars "myth busters" recently. In his newest one, he reveals that when Obi-wan told Luke that Vader killed his father in A New Hope, he was telling the truth. In fact, Lucas didn't come up with the plot twist that Vader was Luke's father until the second draft of Empire. It was then retconned that Obi-wan told Luke a white lie to protect his feelings.

One of my favourite criticisms of the past Jedi is that it wasn't planned like the orig trig.
When GL did barely any planning and many decisions were made due to budget cuts, including Leia being Luke's sister.

Just visited Galaxy's Edge today at Hollywood Studios at the Magic Kingdom.

Sooooooooooooo eeeeeffffffffiiiinnnnggggggggggg cool.

The Millennium Flacon ride is the truth. I didn't build a droid or lightsaber yet, but those will come with subsequent trips as I'm a pass holder.

The thing that was the coolest, was all the dads from my generation taking their kids who were the ages we were when all this started, and being more excited than the kids.

I mean for crying out loud, Chewbacca was walking around under the Falcon.

My eight year old keeps asking when we get to Disneyworld. Maybe in a few years when our five year old is ready to fly and appreciate things more.

There will be two rides by then in the area (not including Star Tours which is in another part of that park).
- Smuggler's Run: Millennium Falcon ride. 6 people get in a replica of the cockpit and fly, shoot and repair the ship as you go thru the run. It its a motion simulator, but you totally feel like you're on the Falcon. There's 2 pilots, 2 gunners and 2 engineers. You each have jobs and are scored on well you did.
- Rise of the Resistance: No idea. Opens in December

Then you can build your own droid: $100 gets you a remote controlled R2 or BB8 droid that you can build with different colors and parts. It has personality chips and reacts to other droids and stuff in the Galaxy's Edge area.

Then you can build your own lightsaber: That's $200. Its a whole ceremony. You get to choose the parts and color of your lightsaber. It looks to be an actual combat ready one. The inner workings of the hilt are high density plastic, but the outer custom parts are all machined metal. The coolest part is that there's sounds when turned on and the light grows from the hilt instead of just flicking on.

Immersion is the goal. All shops, kiosks and stores, etc. Call money..credits. They call you traveler. All the food is normal stuff but is called and made to look different and alien. Storm troopers patrol and give you grief.

Disney is always great at details but they took it to another level with this.

Whenever we go, we'll likely go really light on the souvineers. My wife is extremely.....budget conscious :whistling:. We sometimes spend on experiences and activities, but just take lots of pics while we're there.

The good news for you with kids is that the lightsaber part is "hard to find". Its not obvious, because its supposed to feel like an underground alliance kind of thing.

The droid part will be tough. LOTS of people had them.

Wasn’t impressed with the Falcon ride. I was the engineer(last seat).You have to focus on pushing buttons which are either on your left or right side depending on which side of the cockpit you sit in. So You kinda miss out on what’s happening on the screen. Maybe my 2nd time will be better.

I enjoyed the Galaxy Land as a whole though. Seeing the actual Millennium Falcon was amazing. Felt cool having a section of Disneyland solely dedicated to Star Wars. (Can’t wait for Marvels section,much smaller, at California Adventure).

The other minor gripe I have is they only have R2 and Chewbacca characters for us older SW fans. At least that I noticed.

Last Friday I was donating platelets because I am a hero who likes to save lives by sitting in a chair doing nothing but watching an iPad and I finally decided to check out Solo.

I have about 10 minutes left to watch since the movie didn't take as long as it took me to donate platelets because of course, I am a hero who likes to help people with cancer and I do not have much of a desire to finish the movie.

It is not good. At no point did I believe that guy was Han Solo, other than the fact they kept on calling him Han Solo. His performance was fine in the sense that I didn't think he was bad at acting. I do think the character is poorly written and they tried WAY too hard to make him likable instead of having him give a likable performance.

IMO, the movie should have been space Payback set in the Star Wars universe where Solo isn't ever the "Good" guy, he is just not a complete piece of ****.

The story was bad. That action was not super exciting. The twists were terrible. I just did not enjoy this movie. I know people like to blame the billion-dollar The Last Jedi for Solo's failures, however, that movie failed on its own. Even if someone were to like it, I can't imagine them liking it enough to see it multiple times and it isn't interesting enough to see it a second time.

I do not feel upset. I feel mostly bored. Which IMO is worse than upset. I hate Rogue One, but at least, for the most part, I was entertained.

I felt that Solo was a fine, B- movie. It did what it needed to do, and left me wanting more.
