JRPG players (some of them at least) have been waiting a while for this. Star Ocean 4: Last Hope is finally here for the 360.

I got it last night and will probably give it a go tonight (after beating FEAR2). I was a big fan of Star Ocean 3 on the PS2. Anyone else gonna play this? I really hope it's good... Because to be honest, Square-Enix has released nothing but crap in this gen of consoles. Think about it... Last Remnant?? Infinite Undiscovery?? Both super crapola. Both leaps and bounds behind both of Mistwalker's RPGs, Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey.

Note: Blue Dragon Plus just dropped for the DS. Looks like it's gonna be good. I might have to pick it up. I loved BD for 360.

Have you seen the trailer for FFXIII though?

All will be forgiven if XIII and XIII-Versus are killer titles.

I applaud S-E for at least trying something different, even if it didn't work (not that they are absolved of the games' mediocrity).

no doubt... If nobody tried anything new, nothing will progress. But their next gen titles thus far have been all but terrible. FF13 and v13 MUST be phenomenal.

The Bouncer was their first ps2 game iirc, and it wasn't very heralded. But I thought X rocked.

It just seems like back in the day, they made great FF games, AND great new properties. Chrono Trigger? These days, they got the that space ship (who's name escapes me atm) game and those aforementioned RPGs which as all bad.

I can't think of any great games except Chrono Trigger and Vagrant Story. Chrono Cross was a good game, and Enix always seemed to put out good Dragon Quest games when we actually were able to get them stateside. But beyond that, I can't think of many.

There was also that ridiculous fighting game, and this crazy side scrolling shooter.

I stand corrected Valkyrie Profile (and Chronicles?) were/are great.

Did Square or Enix do the Front Mission games?

The fighting game where you could be Cloud Stryfe? I can't recall the name, but know the game.

    Can't think of the shooter.

yeah, got side tracked by RE5, but I'm back on. I still dig it. Some dungeons are RIDICULOUSLY long. Not for a person short on time, that's for sure.
