I am creating this thread for intellectuals who like to read books. You can post any book (sports related, or not) that you have read or am going to read. You can suggest books and write a description about the book. I will start:

Smart Money- It was a decent book. I would give it about a 6.5 out of 10. This book was basically about sports betting (mostly on Football) and how certain Brain Trusts can routinely beat the Vegas odds and make millions of dollars, but at a cost. It was interesting and made me very interested in casually betting on sports. It is told through the eyes of a writer who in his joins a Brain Trust and works for them in placing bets all over Vegas. Some things I did not like where the fact that it was sort of dragged out a bit and could have been edited down a bit. Also the ending was just ok; nothing special.

The GM: The inside story of a Dream job and the Nightmares that go with it I am currently reading this and am about 90% done with it. I really am enjoying this book. I would rate it a 8.3 out of 10. This book is follows the Giants GM, Ernie Accorsi (The GM before Jerry Reese) in his last season; the 2007 season I believe. It provides great strories and insite into the job. I have already learned a lot about Giant players that I never knew before. A few examples are the Plexico Burress wearns number 17 because he signed with the Giants on the 17th. Plexico really does not like to be touched and he thinks he has a "special power" to catch certain balls that he shouldn't be able to. Yeah, Plexico really is weird. The one thing that could be improved with this book is it is written by an author about someone else, so at times it is kind of jumpy and hard to tell exactly what/who it is talking about. However, overall it is a great book.

Now its your turn.... turn off the TV for a hour and read!!! Then recommend/comment on some books.

After I finish reading The GM. I am going to read Moneyball.

A friend of mine recommended it to me and it sounded interesting so I will read it and tell you all what I thought about it. Its about baseball, a sport that interests me (Go Marlins), but I am definately a football person at heart. Basically it goes into detail how the Oakland A's where able to have great records and play at a very high level while maintaining one of the lowest salaries in the MLB. I believe they did it by getting a bunch of good players without a superstar that cost a bunch of money and other players that "fit their system." I am still not 100% sure though because I have not read it yet. I should have it done in a week or 2.
