I kind of wish it would change the way Henning called plays.. We don't stretch the field nearly enough with this offense.

lol. the playcalling is as much to blame as any player. can give them a pass if they tailored it for penny's arm but no excuse if you stay with dink and dunk with henne

We have players going deep on plays. Pennington didn't throw it to those guys. Henne might/should/will.

Then again I wouldn't be announcing that I am changing the game plan either.

However, I do agree I will be disappointed if I don't see a few shots deep down field this week.

works both ways though. prepare for said passes to be picked/dropped/off target.

Not all of them of course, but Henne's not going 25/25 im sure.

Though if they complete one pass for 30+, that'll go along way for Henne and the overall confidence of the offense.

Standpoint? Don't we all have to take a shot of whiskey when he says that? Or was that just with Wannstedt? :D

Even though he is in my sig, I've pretty much been against Henne from what I've seen this year in preseason and even last week.

I fully expect bad play next week, but obviously hope to be pleasantly surprised.

I think Henne will do fine. He will have opportunities to throw it deep as everyone is looking for. Don't forget that Ted Ginn torched the Bills last season. Henne will help increase those deep plays. Of course not every play is going to be going deep. I am sure you guys know that. But he has to take care of the ball and play smart. If he can't go deep then he needs to take what the defense is giving him. He will have a good game and season. I just believe it!!

realistically Henne should not be expected to win this game. Our running game is solid, their defense is beaten up, and their secondary is down to only 1 starter.

Ronnie and Ricky should win this game.

Though of course, that depends on our defense. My biggest fear is Henne going out there and playing a great game and our defense doesn't even give us a chance to win.

Questions of arm strength aside, Pennington just didn't like to throw it down the field very much. "When you've got the ball, you've got 22 guys' livelihood in your hands." That was his attitude, and I think Parcells' too. I don't expect that to change now that there is a different QB. But I hope it changes a little.

I would prepare for teams to blitz the poo out of him. He may not get the chances to go deep like some of you want.

Agreed. When Henne came in against SD, we continued to dink and dunk until the end of the 4th when we were already out of it. If we don't open it up a bit this Sunday, I'm going to be very disappointed. Also, where the hell are all these fancy Wildcat plays talked about all preseason? I'm still waiting Henning...

It's amazing how quickly TE went from a strong point to a glaring weakness.
