According to playstation world magazine. The Tokyo Gameshow takes place between September 24-27. http://liveplaystation.webnode.com/news/ps3-price-cut-to-be-announced-at-tokyo-games-show/ Just in time for Uncharted 2 it appears. No word on how much, but at the least it has to be $50. At the best, $100 to compete with the 360. If it's $100, I'll be buying one. edit: Title should read "Sony to announce ps3 price cut at TGS" mod fix please.
With a $299 price tag for an already underrated high priced PS3 with Uncharted 2, GOWIII, MAG, modnation Racers, The Last Guardian, Heavy Rain, and GT5 the PS3 could sell really well and push for second place. Maybe losing support from companies like Activision may be pushing Sony to get more aggressive and hope to make a profit in the long term. It would be nice to see the PS3 get the success it deserves.
Either way they're insane. When you add up all it takes to even get an Arcade 360 up to PS3 level (self charging controller, online, wireless, hard drive, etc.) the PS3 even at $399 is the superior deal and it does have a Blu-Ray player.
I promise to control my laughter. I wish they would drop the damn price because I do want to play the new GOW.
Why laugh at the truth. If you want to match the specs of both the 360 is more expensive, now if you want less the 360 is cheaper, but this is not the place for a battle so I'll leave it there.
GoW for PS3 = God of War GoW for 360 = Gears of War It is terrible that two popular franchises bare the same initials, as it can get confusing. With that said, no, the new God of War will no tbe on the 360.
Thanks for clearing that up... I played the first 2 God of Wars... just so used to calling Gears of War GoW thatGod of War didn't even register.
I hope it's $100 cut, I just got my first 360 rings of death today. Still under warranty but I'm going to switch to PS3 anyway. I just got a wii this week, maybe my 360 got jealous.
Chalk me up for a future PS3 owner......would have been a long time ago if they'd have dropped the price like they should have.
You know, for everyone saying "about time," there have been a lot of sony card promotions where you get either $100-$150 off any purchase of $300 or more (sometimes had to be a ps3 purchase, but not always). So you could have got it for your desired price a long time ago, and had a year to pay it off as well.
Am i the only one that thinks it's a major bonehead move to announce a price drop coming in 3.5 months??? Why would anyone buy one in July, August, or September if it's about to go down???
