Jason Allen was used extensively today. And more often than not, he was on Wes Welker, from what I saw. And yet I don't remember Wes Welker even getting a pass thrown his way when Allen covered him. Found that interesting.
I saw him get toasted by Welker near the end of the game, but Brady overthrew him. I don't remember seeing much else of him, but I wasn't really looking for him.
also, iirc, Welker was getting doubled for most of the 2nd half. Allen was part of that double, so yes...he was part of helping to shut him down when it mattered most.
If Jones got pulled or hurt, I'm pretty sure he got put back in. I could've sworn that I saw him on the field late in the 4th quarter. We may have had both Jones and Allen on the field at the same time too
The Pats use 3-4-5 wide spreads alot, would not have been surprising to have 4 CBs in at a time for more than a few plays.
You are all wrong! Jason Allen came in on the last series. He was part of a dime package that included three down linemen. Nathan Jones was still in the game. He was just positioned so deep you could not see him.
