It took Shula 10 games into his SIXTH season as Dolphin coach to lose his 15th game...
That's why he was the man.
And on the sixth season God Rested.... and it was good
so he was 65 -15....is that correct ...very impressive
Shula also had the benefit of coaching during a time when you could truly build a team through the draft and keep those same guys around. There was alot less player movement between teams back then; however, it's still a great accomplishment.
Cam beat the heck out of that record!
Well you could also say that during that time it was harder to do, because if your a HC with a good football mind, you will always strengthen your team with FA and the Draft on positions you need to fix...Shula only had the Draft.
I am just hoping nobody is crazy enough to believe that Parcells will be coming close to being as good a football man like Shula....they are on very different levels, but hopfully Tuna will not let his ego get in the way of getting Miami at the top again. I admit Tuna has some skills, as long as you do not allow him to coach on game day, it might be alright.
I believe that he still the "Winningest Coach" to ever coach as well. I think Belicheat may be moving in oh him though...
Shoot, it took Wannstedt 12 games into his THIRD season to lose his 15th game.
The diffrence is: Shula never had to cheat to be the man he is.
