I have 3 different jerseys of current players. Two of those said players have now been traded during this offseason (well one trade, the other released). I'm now left with an orange Ricky Williams jersey, and who knows where he'll be by the end of the year. So my question is which jersey(s) should I get before the season starts? 1. I'm a little leary of getting a Ronnie Brown jersey, only because I don't know he'll recover from teh knee surgery. 2. I'm leary of getting a Beck or Henne jersey, because obviously I want to wear the jersey of the better player, and who knows who that is going to be? 3. Of course I want a jersey that represents the best player on the team. Who is that now? Is it Ricky?
My advice is always to just get your own personalized Jersey. That "player" is guaranteed to never retire, be traded, hold out because he dosen't want to be a member of your beloved Fins, have his career ended by injury or get suspended from the NFL for any criminal activity. Plus you don't walk around looking like some dude's beeyatch by wearing his name around town.
I cant even find Ricky (new) jerseys for sale anywhere! Ebay has a few, but they look pretty beat up.
Lets hope Jake Long becomes a household name and one of the best LTs in the game. Lets hope his jersey becomes one of the hottest jerseys on the market.
Brown is the safest, besides that, i wouldnt waste my money on any one else. Ive bought a total of 6 jerseys and each time i buy one the player ends up leaving miami within a season or two. Pat surtain, Zach Thomas, Ricky Williams, Chris Chambers, Jason taylor all are examples. The only one who hasnt left yet that i have (knock on wood) is ronnie brown.
I have rule when I buy Jerseys, the player must have longevity with the team... That being said, Id go with either a Ronnie, Satele or Long.. Beck, Henne, even Ginn is too soon IMO
Here's a novel concept: save your money and use it to go to a game. And wear your Ricky jersey to the game, can't go wrong. Or wear the ricky jersey this season, and wait till next year to decide of who's jersey to buy. You must know this advice is coming from someone who has a Dolphins ball cap, and a couple Dolphins T-shirts, and dolphins golf bag towel but NO jersey. so what do I know?
That's the only way to go for me. A Czonka, Warfield, Marino jersey, ect... But it has to be a throwback jersey. Those names look ridiculous on a current jersey IMO.
Ginn maybe, hopefully he has a good year. But yeah, go oldschool until we get some people establish themselves. Cant go wrong with a Marino
Go with Teddy Ginn or Ronnie Brown. Those are your most reasonable choices. Of the currernt players I have Ronnie Brown, Joey Porter, Teddy Ginn, Ricky Williams, and Channing Crowder
funny, I was just thinking about the same exact thing. I think I'm going with either Ginn or Henne, I suggest you do the same. Maybe Merling or Jake Long? Someone that represents the start of this new regime.
If you want a player who is on the team I think you have to go with Ronnie Brown. He's your best player, who yes is coming back from a torn ACL, but he is young (26) and could recover and be just as good as he was before, if not better. You just never know with these things. If you're a big buy, I'd say scratch the Brown idea and just get a Jake Long. If you're a little guy though, stick with the Brown idea or maybe a Ted Ginn Jr. Stay away from any current Dolphin defensive player, unless you like UF. Then I'd get a Channing Crowder jersey, just to be different.
If you retire a Dolphin then you might make it in to my closet. I learned the hard after 2 Ricky's, 2 JT's, 3 ZT's, 2 Chambers, 3 Surtain, Marion, Madison, Ronnie and a Welker. I could wear a different jersey everyday for 2 weeks and not wear the same 1 twice. Out of all those jerseys, there is only 1 I would wear and that is Ronnie's.
Just don't wear whatever jersey I buy because that player is sure to be gone the next year (Marino, Griese, Surtain, and the list goes on).
