Yes sir he did. Benny Sapp was the victim of another knee jerk reaction cut, largely because of the 99 yard pass play to Welker, and I will go to my grave believing that play was at least 50% the fault of Reshad Jones.
Yes, it's a snapshot in time. Things will get better when Ireland trades a 6th for Megatron tomorrow. No you haven't shown anything. You have expressed an opinion, which I disagree with... He keeps active, but I really don't see a pass rusher....
You may be 100% correct about Vernon. My point is that he was not drafted to be a starter immediately and because of his young age, he does deserve a chance in the regular season to at least show if he can improve his play. I am the very last person on this forum who is going to defend any of Ireland's picks. Every single player he drafts or signs in free agency is a question mark to me until they actually show they can play effectively. To me, Ireland has had far more misses than hits, but even the hits didn't always look great in preseason games. In fact many people on here, including me, were questioning the signing of Reggie Bush early last season, when Bush wasn't doing anything positive on the playing field . He eventually came around and had a very solid season. I am certainly not comparing Vernon to Bush, but I think before calling Vernon a, Merling type bust, he at least deserves the opportunity to play in some regular season games to see if he can be effective or not.
Gonna grade myself, although I did say "by Monday" 20 Correct 2 Wrong but I think they become right within days (Thigpen, Mastrud) 3 Wrong (The mystifying Naanee, underwhelming Vernon, Overachieving Yeatman) 1 QB To Be Determined By Sept 9 I think the coaching staff missed on their decisions with Naanee and Vernon. I simply missed the target on Yeatman. Not bad.
Yea, that's nuts. I don't think he played like his draft status, but you still don't cut 3rd round picks after just one camp.
When I asked if Dansby was gone, I was curious about a trade. Or if he fit in. It is obvious that he and Barnett are going to be the glue that holds this unit together this year. I hope so.
