Running Back/Return Specialist: Smith ran 40 yard dash times of 4.45 and 4.47 seconds at his Pro Day. with a 33.5" vertical jump and benching 225 lbs. 15 times. he was projected as a third- to fourth-round pick Clifford seems to have serious talent for moving through a crowded field & making something out of nothing he went to the ProBowl as a rookie for Tampa in 2008 & had another excellent season in 2009 as well as to adding over 600 yards to their running game ( about 6yds. a carry) just might prove to be the man to give us the edge on field position in the up-coming season. hope to see him against Buffalo
My favorite late in the process pickup, what he does is pressure the opposing special teams unit the same way Wake pressures an offense or Brandon Marshall pressures an opposing defense. We've missed players that opponents have to go into games with the approach "we cannot let so and so beat us", that opens opportunities for other players. Double Wake and Starks can eat, Double Marshall and Fasano can eat, squibb kick the ball to keep it out of Smith's hands and the Offense starts at the 35 yd line. My only concern heading into this Bills game is Clifton Smith CAN put the ball on the ground as a Running Back, Sparano, knowing him will try and use him as a Rb, if smith coughs up the ball it will be the end of him as Sparano has no patience for turnovers from someone he is not 100% on.
Are we seriously going to dress 5 RBs? That's going to leave us thin somewhere. Might as well be TE, we only have one NFL TE on the roster anyway.
That depends on what formation they plan to use. Henning has long favored a double TE formation. And I agree that the Smith signing is exciting. I know that empirically STs has a small comparative impact, but as a fan I love the expectation of a potentially exciting return.
Dude, they have 9 olinemen rostered, chances are good Jermey Parnell watches this one from the sidelines in favor of the All Pro Kick Returner.
Low frequency high impact Rafi I'd be happy if the Bills just squib kicked but on Opening Day that seems unlikely. Imho Smith replaces the potential, and yards and impact that Ted Ginn had in the return game.
I'm cautiously optimistic with Smith. He was a very good return man, but he has also been cut twice. I'm hoping he is healthy.
Duh . Parnell, one of the QBs, Crowder, Wallace/Moore. Who are the other 4 that aren't going to be active?
There is a thread around here somewhere with predictions GMJ... I expect Wallace to be active with only 2 Te's active so: 4 Wr's 5Rb's 2Te's Though Lexxy may be inactive as well.
is it confirmed that he will play ? that will me drive nuts even more, jesus how the hell can i fast forward and make 21.5 hours disappear....ideas ? i will gladly sleep 10 of them, but what about the rest
That sounds right, the only really odd thing is 3 Special Teamer running backs are active? If it works great.
