Well, NFL history shows underperforming QBs that needed a change of scenary to become an above-average QB/SuperBowl winning QBs. (S. Young; B. Johnson; T. Dilfer). Clearly its not all about QB talent vs total team talent, different scheme or system, etc.

Are solid QBs solid QBs no matter where you put them?? I dont know. Using latest example - Kurt Warner was nearly out of the league during his Giants tenure when they had line issues. But with decent lines prior in StL, and after in Arz, with different systems he seems to indicate the cause and effect of OL and talent level. Heck Eli was a BUST, until suddenly the G-Men upgrade in the trenches.

Regarding trades - they happen and are measured on reality of what they do after the trade.

And if you come up with a scenario of who I am trading to acquire Matt Ryan, I would weigh that based on what I am giving up, etc. I would have facts to know what I am giving up. I have assumptions to predict or expect what I would be getting.

I am not debating if a Matt Ryan is a QB you would draft or trade for. I am taking the thread for the "do over" issue. And sorry, no rational thought process would lean toward a QB over LT. The FO thought so then, so did I, and the FO thinks so now, so do I.

P.S did you see the note about a brew during SF game?? Any thoughts?

I like what someone said above. The quartback is mainly involved in passing plays. Sure that's a huge part but the OLine protects him so he can pass and the RB so the back can run. I agree that it gives the line a leg up in importance. J.Long or M.Ryan? J.Long.

If Henne comes out and plays very well (wasn't he the 3rd or 4th QB taken? Or at least it was a higher picked QB than a lower one) then this thread is going to be ridiculous looking.

Sorry man completely missed that! Didn't mean to seem like a jerk. My old lady has me roped into doing a 10K on Sunday so if I do make it in time for the game I'm probably just going to die on the couch. But send me a PM with the local watering holes you usually watch the game at. We can try and meet up for the Kansas City Game! :hi5:
