I know I know another one of these threads but what can I say they never get old and this is a nice writeup as well. The article details the current playoff situation, plus who they think each team will win and lose against, and overall its a nice article. Here is a little snippet: Link: SI.com's NFL Playoff Projections, Week 12 - Dom Bonvissuto - SI.com
If it were me everything would be the same except NE is who we'd lose to and not buffalo. NE is playing a lot better w/cassel at the controls and the jills are turning into buffalo burgers.
Doesnt matter, we'll lose at least 2 of the remaining games IMO. One other thing to consider, we've been relatively healthy this year while our division hasn't been as lucky (The Pats in particular) Lets hope guys can continue to stay on the field.
Normally, I would say at Buffalo = Miami loss...However, the Bills sold out to play the game in Toronto, inside, thus giving up a ton of home field advantage.
The only teams that scares me at the moment are the 49ers and the Jets. 49ers should have beaten the Cards if not for the terrible chaos at the end of that game and Singletary seems to have lit a fire under their ***. They look hungry and the way we always seem to play down to teams worries me with the 49ers. As for the Jets that game at the Meadowlands in December possibly for the Division will be the ultimate test for the Dolphins.
Yeah but imagine how loud that stadium is gonna be. Its the first ever game in Toronto and those people will be going nuts. They'll sacrifice weather conditions, but not the raucous atmosphere. Im not saying we can't win, but I dont think its a total loss of home-field advantage.
That's a good point. Cleveland sucks. They cant tackle and they can't catch the ball...and they still beat the Bills in front of rowdy crowd on a Monday night. Yeah, any given Sunday, blah, blah, blah, but how are they gonna perform at a "home game" in Toronto? I'm thinking we win all our games going into the jets game, which will be for the AFC East Crown. A boy can dream, right?
I think we go 3-3 in the next 6 games and wind up 9-7 and out of the playoffs. We will beat either NE or Buffalo, but we'll lose one of the games against SF, ST Louis or KC.
This is what scares me. We are barely winning games against subpar teams after we get a modest lead. If we play that way against NE, it is going to be a long day.
Im actually over confident about the NE game. I know our rush defense can keep them in check, and our secondary has played much better. If we play to the level of our opponents than we should be fine on Sunday. Cassel was left unchecked in the second half of the Jet game, and went crazy when Jersey stopped bringing the blitz. If we can keep him from getting his feet set ala week 3, it'll be difficult for the Pats to put up significant points.
Denver as the 2 seed? Really? I think the Broncos will win the division but unless they buy a defense they won't be getting a first round bye. Has this season been something else or what? Now some of the media is predicting us to be a playoff team.
I'm VERY worried about the Chiefs game. It's the Chiefs home finale, it's gonna be extremely cold, they will be playing their butts off for a chance to ruin someone else's playoff hopes. Don't take that game lightly guys.
We'll see, this time of year, someone has to get going on our offense, Ricky or Ronnie, one of those two must start heating up and playing their best football of the year. I watched the Skins and Cowboys and Marion Barber just took over that game, we need that out of Ricky or Ronnie starting soon. If that happens and our Oline plays a bit better, we can beat anyone.
i like our chances in Toronto. I think a lot of Miami fans will be representing. Miami has a better world-wide fan-base. and KC and STL are both very capable of playing hard. I don't see a single gimme on our remaining schedule. Gonna take each Sunday as they come. I didn't consider the Raiders a W, and I won't check off anybody as a W on any other game either, prior to THIER week. But every time 1pm Sunday rolls around, I'm ready to go and ready to win! it really is like a mini-war.
I HATE the idea of playing @ Arrowhead. Its one of the toughest venues to play in the entire league, regardless of the Chiefs record. They've been competitive in almost every game they've played this year. I'm more concerned about that game than this week against NE. Prove to me that Matt Cassel can beat a team in this league with his arm, then I'll re-evaluate my stance. We're gonna shut down the Pats running game and force them into obvious passing situations. I don't think Cassel can beat us, I really don't.
Buffalo IS going to lose home-field advantage playing in Toronto. Living up here in Canada, I don't think most people realize how many Phin fans will be at the game. Toronto is not Bills country by any means.
I figured alot of New Yorkers would be attending the game with it being so close. I'll take your word and hope you're right though.
I'm not saying it will feel like a home game for Miami, but it sure as hell won't feel like Ralph Wilson Stadium either.
So far that has been our weak spot. Teams will attack us thru the air. All Cassel has to do is get it close to Randy Moss and he will find a way to catch it. I think our best shot is take Randy out of the play early and let him quit on his team. IMHO, that is more likely to happen with Cassel in there.
I don't think Cassel can consistently hit the big throw and hurt us over the top. He's been erratic at best in that area. I have confidence in our front 7 to shut down the run and collapse the pocket. Take away the short and intermediate stuff and force Cassel to go down the field. And don't get me started on Randy Moss. The guy is a dog.
I think if we keep our heads on straight, we win the Buffalo game. I am more concerned about the Pats at this point. Beating them won't be easy to do a second time.
I think this is a season defining game no doubt. We are begining to get alot of media coverage and predictions of playoff games. Been along time since this happened in Mid November for Miami (except last year media coverage that was just too hard to watch). If we win the coverage and talk will build 10 fold. If we lose, I think it dies down and we are just another nice story in the NFL story line. Not saying if we lose we are out of it by any means but, a loss here hurts terribly. SO............Lets do this thing and Beat the Snot out of them darn Patriots!!
Passports. That will stop alot of fans from going. I can not imagine that the majority of bills fans have them.
You know, thinking about this in a historical sense; December has always been our melt down month. If we can have a winning December, that alone will say a ton about this team and where its head is at. And the game that scares me the most is the 49ers game. I truly feel we can win out within the division.
I would think that all the season ticket holders would be there, but I bet there are a lot more Dolphin fans in Toronto that there are in barfalo. Interesting about the passports, I had completely forgotten about that change.
I think that NY now has an endorsement you can get on your drivers license that allows you into Canada...But how many Bills season ticket holders have passports?
do the players?? we need to call immigration.. the Canukistani one, tell them there are hundreds, maybe thousands of terrorists are trying to take over Toronto. Canadian Bacon baby, tell um the bad guys wear blue and red gang colors.. Good to see you around bro, wish you come by more often.
Thanks. Been pretty busy at work. I have been stopping by because my neighbor is a big Phins fan. He goes to another site..phinfever maybe? I told him to join here. He would fit in well. His pool has a Phins logo on the bottom..His trucks are loaded with Phins logos. And he has a prett sick room with 40-50 autographed phins helmets and game used Jerseys. Although the ****er stole my Jets flag off the front of my house.
Good point about the passports. In a different topic how you feel going in to the game with the Titans?
The game is going to be tough. I think Tennessee is going to win. Just being honest. My bright hope is Kerry Collins has a bad record vs the Jets. The Jets should take the Jags film and review over and over. The Jags had them, and then let it go. Leon Washington will be the big key to the Jets winning.
I really believe if you guys can stop the run and force Collins to put the team on he's shoulders, you can win this game.
Yes, there is: lack of talent on defense, poor coaching on special teams and bad play calling on offense.
i hope he is wrong about the jet game, i will be at that game with 2 jet fans so i hope miami pulls off a win
