Shula calls Porter's behavior 'outrageous'

Shula contended Porter could have achieved the same conclusion in a more respectful manner. Instead, Porter tore into the team in interviews this week on "Jim Rome Is Burning" and on Miami sports radio station WQAM.

Xeticusforum_veteranYeah honestly there's no reason for Porter to shoot his mouth off like that. It wasn't like Sparano wanted him around anyway. Joey could've gotten traded or cut without being an asshat.
finfansince72subscriberThis is the problem I've always had with Porter he's a team guy when the going is good but once it gets rough he's all about himself. Selfish player. Too bad we didn't ship him off after the one big year he had for us. I can honestly understand him wanting a full time role and thinking that he still has some left in the tank, thats fine, request to be moved behind the scenes, talk to management face to face, be a man. Doing it on Rome is Burning? Low class, childish and selfish. We are building a team here, Joey can go finish his career starting for the Raiders or Lions or some other desperate franchise.

That's too funny. Although, maybe there's some truth to that? Hmmm, I wonder...:headscratch:
In all seriousness, Shula is a class act. So, for him to come out and say something like this about any player is the proverbial kiss of death (for Porter) IMHO. I think Porter's has indeed sealed his fate. Now, it's just a matter of time, and whether or not the FO can get anything in return for him. I know there are some here that think that is a possibility. I'm not one of them. I'm pretty sure we'll hear he's been cut before 2/28.

He could probably take Tony out with a sentence. And I like Tony A lot.
I think with Shula it's the fact he doesn't always talk, but when he does, all of us, the press etc. listen.

finyank13New MemberThe thing is he act is wearing thin....talk your mouth off but please back it up....in 2008 he did...but last year he didnt at all.....I dont care about 9 sacks, alot of those were in garbage time anyway...when it mattered most he was vastly overmatched....and it will only go down here from now ability wise..
