This is not a good Jags team, not by any stretch. That said, I do believe they have played better with Henne at Qb than Gabbert. Mularkey is a decent HC and offensive mind, and their Defense is a disaster area. They added Blackmon whom came to life with Henne, and they will be getting MJD back and healthy. Should they stick with Henne, give the job to Gabbert (again) or reach for a Matt Barkley in rd2?
Neither Mularkey nor Henne, both of whom were run out of our town on a rail, has been the solution for the Jags. Both have persisted in the habits that got them run out of town. The Jags should try another solution, as should the Jets at OC and the Bills at DC. The Ravens already have, at OC. Very few of the QBs and coaches whom we have fired have gone on to success anywhere else.
Mularkey took over a fairly bad team cdz, and as Dolphins fans know you can want to draft a Qb high if they are not there, they are not there to draft in the first place. They reached for Gabbert (whom I thought would work out) and now they are sort of stuck. Personally, I'd stick with Henne and upgrade the roster, or make a run at MMoore or Alex Smith.
honestly, their future QB is not in this draft, Id stick with Henne for 2013 and draft in 2014 a Qb, or go for Alex Smith.
They need: -De who can get after the passer (unless they really believe in Babbin) -Cb -OL Poz is also having a bad year, but as cdz points out could be a regime change in Jax anyway. I'm just glad we did not wind up with Gabbert Jr, looked great on film but in reality is pocket scared in the NFL, cannot take the hits and function.
