I don't know if I agree. A QB sneak is a situational call, and I think a Bear front with a nose tackle probably in two-gap is not really an ideal circumstance. If he was showing 1-gap sure, because then you've got a bubble to aim for.
3rd and an inch Sherman calls a stretch play and you put the blame on the QB? This fan base sure does keep me entertained.
I guess you missed the first part of the sentence since you didn't bold it. If he had the option to check out of it, then yeah its on Tannehill. That's why you give a QB the option, so he can read the defense alignment and make a decision. Now if he didn't have the option to check out of it then sure all the blame falls to Sherman. Do we know how much freedom Tanny has to check out of running plays?
The sneak should have been the primary call then IMO. If the Saints lined up in the old Buddy Ryan 46, then check out of it maybe. In the alignment the Saints were in, it was as if they were conceding the sneak, and yes I agree if at that point RT had the option he should have checked to it. However, if he had checked to it, the Saints would have seen him changing the play, and could have went to the 46 alignment before the snap. It's not like it was 3rd and 1 anyway, and being as how it was only literally an inch, I'd like think behind Pouncey and Incog that RT could have gotten an inch even against a 46 defense.
You're right, for some reason I assumed the Jerry was covered and didn't look at it when I wrote that. Either way, I don't think you do it with with NT in that position.
what I don't get is Mike Sherman seems to get more free passes then Cleo Lemon and Chad Henne had passes all season . what dolphins don't understand is how bad a coach Mike Sherman was at A&M so how can a fan not see this is the truth . honesty should count for something. I trust Philbin and I trust certain position coaches but I sure don't trust Sherman at all .
