im not sure yet but somebody said he discussed with Philbin about retiring after the Season,or maybe they wanna make it look like they did with henning..Whatcha think guys.. Also Zac Taylor said it to a good friend in a restaurant that Sherman may retire at Age 60.
KB21 I think suggested a bit of nudging into retirement or another role, but if there was something other than that I haven't seen it or heard of it. He's what, 58?
That's when you know our offense is bad, when 2 of the last 3 offensive coordinators are at the point of retiring, we're using 1970's philosophy. Sure west coast offenses still exists around the league but most have adjusted. Joe Gibbs ran a west coast offense and when he came back about a decade ago his offenses amounted to nothing.
That's nonsense. Nothing about this offense looks like a 1970s offense. And Joe Gibbs did not run a West Coast Offense as that term is used today (although it did have it roots in the Gillman/Coryell offense). And after his first year back in 2004, Gibbs' teams ranked 11, 13 and 15 in yards, which is pretty respectable when your QBs are Patrick Ramsey, Mark Brunell at ages 35-37, Jason Campbell and Todd Collins.
What offense? He called no plays. You might as well replace the title offensive coordinator to video coordinator.
I've been campaigning for a younger voice for sometime now. I think youth would serve us well..some aggressiveness and modernization.
