Well I’m getting a little deeper into Mordor and I don’t suck as bad as I thought..battle becoming much easier as the skill tree starts filling up and I pick up the mechanics. Probably won’t want to spend too much in the store ;)

I’m glad I spent some time with the first one so my curve shouldn’t be as steep and I’ll hopefully have a build planned for my style. I hope a few of you get it so we can do some of the online stuff in here.

About mid way you will practically be a God. The game gets very easy. Though it is fun hearing the orcs talk about how scared of you they are.

Kotaku is a little less corporate. So I am feeling a little better about this game. Though I still might wait until I can buy a new TV before playing. My TV is so old.

my computer is way to old to play this game. I need all new electronics.

You are welcome. Shadow of Mordor is some of the most fun I have ever had playing a game. I loved it so much.

That makes sense, maybe they’ll make weekly challenges so the game doesn’t get dry a few months after release. Xing my fingers that’s what he meant. Either way I am def going to get the game however I’m still pondering picking up the MithEd. Maybe I can put it up on EBay.

After a while you won’t even think twice about getting into a battle with a high ranking warchief or captain. Might I suggest practicing taking advantage of his weaknesses, and enraging your enemy in battle. Also don’t forget to send out death threats. All these things affect the strength of the Rune that you can acquire after you kill them. You can actually get a level 25 Rune or better an Epic one. These skills will def help you build your army in the upcoming SoW.

Looks like the true ending of the game is either locked behind the paywall or grind away.

It's absolutely unbelievable. The way video games are trending with these types of things is concerning.

SoW, Forza 7, Battlefront II, NBA 2k18.

It's ridiculous, I loved Shadow of Mordor. I will speak with my wallet and not support this game.

Well I have it and ill play it and let you know my opinion...I don't want to watch that video in case of spoilers but I have read that those reviews are overstating the actual grind time and since I don't like grinding ill be honest with you guys.. but its going to take me a few weeks to get to that part of it im sure since I am a completionist.

Kotaku is reporting that the grind wall at the end of the game isn't as bad as other media outlets are reporting. I'll be waiting to see the consensus as more people get to the end of the game.

Yea, he basically said you will have a problem if you just burn through the game as fast as you can and not spend some time leveling up your orcs and setting them up in a strategic way.

They said the grind was 10-15 hours, while others said it was 20-40 hours.

It could be the Kotaku got a newer build, because that is a huge difference.

I bought the digital gold edition on XBlive and love it. However I will not partake in any “micro transactions”. I’ll earn my keep the old-fashioned way: In-game currency. You can earn gold from completing community quests but the payoff is only 50 gold currency. I’ll just have dig my heels in the sand and grind through doing it the “long way”.

Well I am taking it far to slow to give you guys my opinion on the end game...If seen a few streams from FTP players and none of them seem to "need" anything from the boxes.

Game is a blast everything I expected plus some. two thumbs up 9.5/10...easy.

I’m moving through the game pretty slowly as well. I’m not struggling, but I just like the combat and been doing a lot of online vendetta missions to build up my skill tree. I filled out my entire skill tree except for the skill upgraded. I didn’t realize I had to “purchase” the upgrades. I thought they were unlocking automatically as I raised my level. I had stockpiled 8 skill points before realizing I had to purchase the skill upgrades with skill points. Once I realized this I purchased 6 at once. The down side to this is you don’t get a chance to practice the newly acquired skill so in battle I forget how to perform them. I mostly got the skillls that were in SoM that weren’t auto in this game. I love the Wraith Block. Anybody have a fave skill upgrades or suggestions?

Halfway through with act 4...just one thing to say..buy the damned game. All that micro T stuff is crap, the game has no need for it all that stuff about the "grind" at the end.. you have to be kidding me its the best part.

My favorite orcs (and you will have them) are epic not "legendary" (Ive had 50+) and my two epics would rake 99% of them (r.i.p. my third favorite my bad for sending you in blind to spy). this whole game has been bad *** I spent my vacation on it (wife working) and don't regret a second.

One "pro tip" from me.. I have used the MT store to buy experience boosters (no money spent) since I didn't level enough during the first 3 acts...I would suggest using the gold you get from the game a couple of hundred a week for those and make good use of the 2 hours.

PS I love playing Uruk Pokémon in the “pits” during the endgame to upgrade my forces during defenses...it’s like a game in itself.

Black Friday had a sale where Shadow of War was $25. That is too good a deal to pass up.

I also think I got sick at Gamestop so it was kismet as I just have enough energy the last two days to play video games. Probably due to sickness and haven't played video games in a while my right hand sore.

I am enjoying it, though I am confused with my goal. I think I went through Act 1 too fast. I almost want to start over and it doesn't have the sense of direction as the first game had. I don't feel as sad when I die, because I don't know what exactly is going on. Do I want to make my region all under me?

In my last mission I sent 4 orcs to kill 1 orc and 3 of them turned on me. Four orcs worth of captains and such were too much for me to handle and they got me. I am looking forward to murdering them.

Cool, 3 revenge targets in 1 go! Most I had turn on me at once was two. Don’t forget to send out that death threat to the one your most likely to run into. One will be on your tail constantly if your still in Nurnen and he has tracker or Assassin class... that’s what happened to me. Killed me three times before I got him back. In the early stages he kept ambushing me during a duels with another captains.

Revenge by execution is really satisfying in this game. The game dynamic sometimes rewards you for strategicly recruiting them. There will come a point where all orcs seem to be “iron willed” and will force you to spare them or fight to the death.

Although I hate the “shaming” dynamic, it can be effin hilarious at times.

I actually started getting very fond of this as well. I use this to purge my peon captains and recruit the higher ranked ones. But I seem to be getting matched with orcs who are “iron willed” all the time and can’t seem to strengthen my army. It’s starting to get tedious. Have you found anyway around this strength other then continual “shaming” until it goes away? Is this the “paywall” that’s been mentioned?

I just execute iron willed its not worth the bother....I have a pit “executioner” in every region so I just keep killing until I see one I like then I feed them a fodder orc and then recruit ;).

Advice taken...Executing em feels better then worrying about these turd buckets. Been actually the slaughter tribe captains are quite easy to dominate. Maybe the game was just trying to get me to start playing through these.

for thew pits get one of those 2 axe berzerkers (shield guys are good too but they kill slowly)with some decent rages and when you get a "thick skin" training order give it to them and you can farm the pits all day really quickly...and make some myrian.
