alen sense you are in this thread......lemme ask, do you see the dolphins doing with WR/inside LB this draft like we did with DBs last draft? 2 corners early, and a safety late? do you see us drafting a WR, ILB, and maybe another WR in the 4th-5th?
He had no shot at getting to McElroy whether he pursued or not. When McElroy turned the corner, there was a wall of blockers and Ingram sealing the edge.
I think you're implying the double-up strategy? If so, I think so. I don't know how content they are with the ILB's but I dont' think they are too happy about the play, especially in coverage. I have a hard time seeing them going with two wide receivers after doubling up last year but I can see them doing it with two ILB's and a WR or OLB. What I think we can't ignore is that they are probably wanting to take a Guard in this draft. It's a question how high or not but I think Parcells drafts over the years show that he's had three or four Guards taken very high, like first or second round. Guys like Jon Asamoah of Illinois and/or Mike Lupati of Idaho are hard to ignore. They've already scouted Vladimir Duccassee of Massachusetts IIRC. Asamoah fits exactly the size/weight ratio IMO and Lupati's a bit heavier at like 330 but he's very good.
Not the kind of motor I like though Alen, once he was clear of he Oline he throttled back, if he had turned on the jets he may have caught McElroy from behind or at least laid wood on Ingram.
Agree with that Alen, the Oline is to be the catalyst for the offense and the Guard position is just a weakness again this year. I wanted Herm Johnson last draft soo badly.
ha! i could care less i was calling him out, cause he was attempting perfect grammar while dissing you......its just funny
I just re-watched the play. He had no shot on Ingram or McElroy IMO. Ingram was up near the first down marker, which was about a good five yards up field. Once Spikes got into the backfield, McElroy was turning the corner and there was no hole for Spikes to run through down the sideline and hit him. I think if you want to criticize, you have to look at the DB that Ingram turned back inside to block. I don't know what he's thinking going back inside the play when McElroy is running outside.
That is where his superior athleticism was supposed to shine Alen, a chance to move faster than the othe players and he just didn't do it. Oh look now he Spikes just missed a tackle downfield on Ingram's 62 yd run.
these announcers...... "uh oh codys in the game" "hes in the backfield" "well no....." "is he out there?" "oh on the left side.....oh uh.....TD bama!!!!!" whata ****in joke
