I don't know who is going to win this one. I think both teams can be beaten, and it will come down to who has more holes. Earlier this year I thought Alabama would crush Florida, but they have really slipped in my eyes. Should be a great game.
Bama's offense will dictate the game imo....they cant come out and go 3 and out and force that defense as good as it is to stop Florida consistently. Bama 20 Florida 19
I got the Gators in this one, Alabama's offense is just too crude to really put up points imho. Got the beer on ice and the skinny fries in the oven though. Watch who steps in for Dunlap, the Gators tend go real deep and I'd bet his backup is one heck of a player as well.
I said in another thread, my head says Bama wins a squeaker but my gut says Florida takes it by two scores. We'll see what happens, I just hope it's a good game.
Saban has that defense very well prepared....but Bama cant have a "Reggie Fish" moment that would nullify there effort.
If he doesnt quit we NEVER get Parcells and are looking like we have the future we do.... Staying on topic Bama looks much more prepared early
Alabama's doing their version of a scrape exchange to contain the zone reads. On that last play, their weak side end crashed down inside and McClain come down to fill the void. That way, they defend both the inside and outside zone read.
Cant tell from the TV angles but the secondary must be doing a fantastic job thus far, Tebow's first and second options must not be there.
To be fair, the Florida offense is extremely simple to figure out. The problem for most defenses is that they don't have the athletes. LSU also contained them extremely well, and if they had half an offense would have won that game. Not to take anything away.
They aren't that easy IMO. They don't do anything very significant in their pass game but their run game is difficult because of the reads. They put you in a position where you pick your poison and you suffer. The thing is, Alabama's very disciplined inside and their linebackers have great patience as well as feel for the game IMO.
It seems like whenever I watch UF in these bigger games, they come off as a bend but don't break zone defense. They give up a boat load of yards but end up winning the game.
Well that's the thing. The option can only go two places. The QB or the option man.You said the two key words that I bolded. The option isn't so much of a read on defense as it is keeping containment. If you have two defenders to two offensive players, the only way the offense will win usually is by having better athletes. The read comes in when you have 2-1 offense/defense. Just my opinion. Aside from the occasional reverse, you pretty much know where the ball is going on run plays. And like you said their passing game isnt too complicated in itself.
What I've noticed is when a Alabama player hits a Florida player, the UF player falls over, when a Florida player hits a Alabama player, they either drop on the spot, or on Defence the UF player falls backwards. Alabama is playing downhill at the moment
