Im not getting some of the angst about Smith at 57...ireland valued Pat White more than Sean Smith..pretty simple imo.
It's more that most people think we should have taken him at #56 instead of trading back and risk missing him.
Sean Smith has been impressive so far at a position of need. Additionally he was a great value pick as many gurus were predicting he would be drafted much earlier. I was certainly surprised he was still there. Perhaps a better question would have been who should we have picked instead of Pat White ?
In the post draft period, GRT8 mentioned they had him rated as a later pick as in the mid third round or so. I wonder if we will use him as a Red Zone Wr? http://forums.thephins.com/showthread.php?t=34321
I think Sean Smith may be a little overrated by some at this point. I like the pick, but I'm not sure he is going to be as good as Davis. His ball skills are excellent, but I see tightness in his hips, and I think theres some wasted motion when he changes direction.
