Seahawks Cut Four By Michael Smith The Seahawks have parted with four players from the 2009 roster. Tyler Roehl, John Owens, Walter Jones and Owen Schmitt have been released. Jones, a possible future Hall of Famer, has struggled with injury the past few seasons and the Seahawks line has suffered without his absence. Age, injuries and a higher salary have led to his departure. Schmitt, whose well known for his You Tube video of smashing his helmet against his forehead, has done little to separate himself from Justin Griffith, who was the starter last season and will be kept because of his familiarity with the zone blocking scheme. The Seahawks save $7,705,000 with the four releases. NOTE: Cap Numbers - Roehl,Tyler - 370,000.00 Owens, John - $ 750,000 Jones, Walter - $ 6,200,000 Schmitt, Owen - $ 385,000
